Beer

I am struggling to understand "fermented beverage made from a source of starch without fermentation". Even without the apparent contradiction, I am n0ot sure this can be the very first sentence of the article. Could you please bring your proposal to Talk:Beer and we can try to thrash out a compromise? Thanks. --John (talk) 08:01, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi John! The post should have been ..."without distillation". If you have no further objection, I'd like to repost it with the indicated correction. The article should start by giving a definition of beer. Dr Thermo (talk) 05:57, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
