Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, one or more of the external links you added to the page RSS (disambiguation) do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Dekisugi (talk) 15:47, 7 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

It would be helpful if you made clear what part of the policy for external links (which I read) you were judging by. And yes, I did read the welcome page also.

Because you inserted external links in a disambiguation page. Please read more careful about WP:MOSDAB guidelines; what the purpose of it, what should not be linked, etc. Most importantly,
Never include external links, either as entries or in descriptions. Disambiguation pages disambiguate Wikipedia articles, not the World-Wide Web. To note URLs that might be helpful in the future, include them as comments or on a talk page.

Ok, found that, eventually. I guess I'm out on my own with disagreeing philosophically on the purpose of disambiguation pages, but I admit having missed the directive.

So from what I read, if I had written a trivial article on network RSS (which basically says get the deal from the horse's mouth) and disambiguated to that, that would have been Ok? Drdr6 (talk) 09:40, 8 January 2008 (UTC) (BTW: appreciated your follow-up).Reply

Yes. You must first pass notability criteria guideline to create a new article. If nobody objects, then you can create wikilink from the disambiguation page to the newly created page. Happy editing! Dekisugi (talk) 11:53, 8 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
