Proposed deletion of Carolyn Ramo

edit

The article Carolyn Ramo has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

non notable head of non-notable organization

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ways to improve Sheri L. Pasquarella

edit

Hello, Drewzeiba,

Thank you for creating Sheri L. Pasquarella.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

This is a well researched page, please check on some of your references (such as amazon.com) and make sure they are appropriate for WP. This page would also benefit from some categories and other pages that link to it. Thank you for your contribution to Wikipedia. Nightenbelle (talk) 20:46, 27 May 2020 (UTC)

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Nightenbelle}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Thank you Nightenbelle! I have gone in and used the books themselves as references fully cited and have begun linking pages to this one, as well as adding categories. {{Re|Nightenbelle}}~~~~

Conflict of interest

edit

I am just curious to know if you have any conflict of interest you may have with the articles you have been editing? I would characterize some of them as promotional. Please read the COI link above and let us know.ThatMontrealIP (talk) 22:16, 27 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

I'm mostly editing info on arts nonprofits, women artists, and women and LGBT people in the arts (editors, curators, etc.) I have familiarity with via work as an art journalist. If they read as too promo-y I'm happy to rein in where that need be. Most pages are people who have been written about pretty widely in the art press and also in mainstream media. I've edited some existing artist's pages just to expand exhibition or grants lists and to create more linkbacks. (Drewzeiba (talk) 22:28, 27 May 2020 (UTC))Reply

Ok thanks. I will give you another chance to answer my question directly. Are you employed by any of your article subjects, have worked for them or know them? Please be clear in your answer.ThatMontrealIP (talk) 22:35, 27 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Some I know personally or have worked for before on a freelance basis. Some I don't know or are deceased. The articles are all fully sourced, including profiles in media but if language needs to be tweaked I can do that if you can indicate what is problematic. (Drewzeiba (talk) 22:38, 27 May 2020 (UTC))Reply

The issue here is Conflict of interest, and it appears you have one. We also do not allow surreptitious paid editing per WP:PAID. That includes writing articles about people who also happen to be your employer. Please state which articles you have a conflict with, and which ones may have been done under a paid editing situation. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 22:43, 27 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Not trying to do anything surreptitious perhaps there is a misunderstanding. Sheri Pasquarella is an occasional employer. I was paid to work on the Artadia article. Gloria Kisch is a deceased artist who was shown relatively widely during her lifetime whose press archives I had access to. Not sure if I'm forgetting anything. Let me know an appropriate way to reconcile this. (Drewzeiba (talk) 22:46, 27 May 2020 (UTC))Reply

thanks for letting me know. We will have a discussion at the conflict of interest noticeboard.ThatMontrealIP (talk) 22:48, 27 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

How do you want me to reconcile this? Is there somewhere to disclose it such that it can be fairly noted? (Drewzeiba (talk) 22:57, 27 May 2020 (UTC))Reply

it's a user community, and unfortunately you have violated some of the rules that keep the wiki neutral. You can explain things at the link below. I have to warn you that paid editing without disclosure is one of the worst things you can do here, and admins often block users on sight for that. If you have previously disclosed your paid work on Artadia, do point that out with a link in the discussion below. Ultimately these COI and PAID policies are all about maintaining neutrality.ThatMontrealIP (talk) 23:01, 27 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Sheri L. Pasquarella

The page Sheri L. Pasquarella has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia.
