Excellent work!

I have a few comments:

Make sure you're using the correct level of header - right now your sections are 2nd level headers, once you put the article live on Wikipedia they should be 1st level headers (big text with the line across)
Word count is 728 not counting references - I'll give it to you this time but for the final draft be sure to add enough words to get the count over 800 ;)
Citations look great! You might want to consider formatting them so you don't repeat the same citation more than once, ie. So you'd have [1] several times rather than [1] [2] and [3] being the same source
You have a gift for writing about history - very well done!
