User talk:Drstuey/Archive2006
Hi, You might want to consider adding {{User NZ res}} to the top of your user page, which will add you to this category automatically and also add a nice graphic. Or simply add [[Category:Wikipedians in New Zealand]] which will have the same effect. If you want to help find fellow kiwis Click on this link [1] which will find all users who have "zealand" on their user page. I have done a few, but there are many more to do. Obviously don't just add it to everybody, read their user page to see if they actually live in NZ. Onco_p53 06:45, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
I Know You...
editfrom the KLF mailing list! I'm having a good sort out of KLF related articles and categories. I'm putting a list together of existing articles and red links at Category_talk:The KLF. Please give me a few days to get it finished and then feel free to get stuck in with your comments etc. --kingboyk 19:01, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
Peter Robinson
editDo you know where I can find a copy of Peter Robinson's J&A History online? I think klf.de used to have one but it seems to have gone. Please let me know on my talk page. Cheers. --kingboyk 18:04, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
Auckland meetup
editJust to let you know that a meetup is planned in Auckland for the 25th of June (see Wikipedia:Meetup/Auckland for more details), and that you are cordially invited. GeorgeStepanek\talk 00:21, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
Help sourcing "2K in wheelchairs" image
editHi there. User:Zzzzz has nominated The KLF for featured status, and a sticking point has come up with a couple of the images used. In particular, we are not sure of the source for Image:2K - Wheelchair.gif. In your capacity of Mu Librarian, are you able to help us identify it? Kingboyk has wondered whether it appeared on the 2K website (if so, we further don't know what the URL was). It's certainly a fairly crisp image and doesn't look like a scan. Also, do you know of a viable alternative band photo to the one currently used in the lead of the article? It may sadly be that we have to lose that one. Many grateful thanks for any help you can provide. --Vinoir 17:28, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
Oh and do you know the exact date/publication of the J&A advert we're using? This one's not such a big deal, I think it's sourced enough and we could afford to lose it. --kingboyk 17:43, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
Please see the above and consider adding your name. It doesn't matter if you're not often active, you've played an important part in getting us where we are today. --kingboyk 01:21, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
Library of Mu
editDear Librarian of Mu: I've just sent you 2 emails containing several hundred KLF and KF press clippings. Please contact me with an alternate email address if you don't receive them. Cheers. --kingboyk 15:26, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

edit- Thanks for the help with this image lets hope someone lets it ride! --Alex 08:16, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- Nice reworking of the image! Used to live in Wellington for a while. Great place. --Alex 14:15, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for your support Alex. If you ever need any more diagrams created for environment articles, I'm happy to have a go at it. - Drstuey 11:05, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
- If you are up for the challenge I have proposed the creation of a barnstar for the Environment pages of Wikipedia. Please see the following pages Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Environment Wikipedia:Barnstar_and_award_proposals. My design skills arent good enough or I would have a go myself! --Alex 11:22, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
WikiProject Environment
editHi Drstuey. I see you have joined Wikiproject Environment. Welcome! --Alex 08:20, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for adding the categories. I was just thinking about adding them myself :)
KLF
editHi Stuart. Remember you asked me if there were any old articles or anything we needed to help with the KLF articles? Well, I was planning to submit 1987 (What the Fuck Is Going On?) for Featured Article status, but I found that we have these omissions:
- an elusive NME review by a disappointed Danny Kelly
- any reference from a reliable source calling 1987 a "landmark release" in the history of sampling
- information on the collectability of 1987
Have you got any of these?
--kingboyk 20:33, 4 September 2006 (UTC) P.S. Fuck the Millennium is now a featured article :)
Christiaan
editChristiaan hasn't contributed to the English wikipedia for a while, and the last I heard of him, he was on bail. Andjam 09:39, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
Locke
editRe: User:Armon. Just see Ahmed Zaoui and Talk:Ahmed Zaoui (among many others) for the kind of behavouir he engages in on here - my suggestion is to give as good as you get and take him to arbitration. He removes anything he doesn't like in a very aggressive manner. I've given up assuming good faith in his case. Tell me to get back to work! 04:28, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
Mediation
editHi, I'm Canadian-Bacon a mediator from the Mediation Cabal. I was requested to come and help solve the disputes resolving around Keith Locke. It's not my job to say who is right or wrong or to pick a side in any way, but to help resolve the dispute and to help make sure the article conforms to WP:NPOV. I've opened up a page for all parties to talk this out at Talk:Keith_Locke/Mediation and I'd welcome you to come take part. Cheers. Canadian-Bacon t c e 16:47, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
Apologies
editSorry for my lack of input on the mediation -I've been sick. I'll get back to it ASAP. Armon 09:14, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
C86
editHi drstuey. Thanks for the tweaks. I still think Aztec Camera are important. Only reverted because it was easier. No disrespect and all that. Jemstone66
Hi again Stuart. Thanks for the 1987 resource, which I hope to use soon.
Do you know if "Burn the Bastards" or "Burn the Beat" were ever reviewed or written about - as singles - in any substantial way? The article is currently extremely thin on references. If you have anything on a dusty old shelf in the Library of Mu please get your stepladder and fetch it down! :) --kingboyk 20:07, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
K Foundation
editBump re Burn the Bastards :)
Also, are you able to help with any of these?
- Need a Bill-quote from 45 (with page number) about the "Tenant's Super" incident (which he reporedly cites as the "final" K Foundation activity and talks about in detail). My copy is packed away somewhere, and I don't like to touch it cos it's autographed :-)
- Need to get the chronology of the final KF activities sorted out and a reference to the "Workshop For A Non-Linear Architecture" bulletin (Cape Wrath advert, "Workshop For A Non-Linear Architecture", Tenants)
- Any juicy quotes from the Million Quid book (I don't have this)
- Sourcing photos for the art award article:
- A photo of the K Foundation artwork, Nailed to the Wall
- A photo of the K Foundation amending art history, Gimpo preparing to burn the £40,000, or Rachel Whiteread accepting the money
--kingboyk 16:07, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- Reviews of The White Room and the "big" KLF singles. Seems to be a stackload of WR reviews in the Library which haven't been uploaded. The White Room article is woeful at the moment, which is a shame given that it was their commercial (and arguably artistic) peak. --kingboyk 15:14, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
I believe you wrote this...
edithttp://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100898/plotsummary
“ | The KLF, King Boy D and Rockman Rock, are waiting on the Scottish island of Jura for their equipment to arrive. They ponder the sights and sounds of the landscape around them: the surf, the wind, birdsong, farm animals, fields, gardens, and moors. They savour the qualities of waiting. When their equipment arrives, they record these sounds and re-broadcast them to world, along with their own music. | ” |
and are therefore the copyright holder?
Would you mind adding this or similar, and for each other film one line or paragraph per film, to The KLF films? I was gonna do it myself, was hunting around for info on what Waiting is about (I've never seen it), and found a nice little summary written by... well, you! May as well recycle! --kingboyk 20:56, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
Should you be interested, there's a new KLF article available for your perusal - Kylie Said To Jason. --kingboyk 15:22, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
