all Hawaiian coffee is not Kona coffee

edit

Your change to Kona coffee was reverted. There is coffee grown in other areas of the islands besides Kona. We need to discuss this. What is probably true is that Hawaii is the only state that produces coffee commercially. But we need sources. Thanks for trying to help. W Nowicki (talk) 23:07, 7 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry about that -- I did not realize that was in a reference. Slap me :D. Tofutwitch11 (TALK) 02:27, 10 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Swiss Family Robinson (1940 film)

edit

Hi, Dutchmonkey. In April 2010, you posted in the article on this film that TCM had released a DVD of it. However, the link provided, ([1]), reads "discontinued or does not exist". Do you know anything about this purported DVD release? Have you seen it? Or have you purchased one? If any of the above, or if you have any further information, could you contact me, either via e-mail (via the toolbox on the left margin of my user page), or on my Talk page? Thanks very much! Softlavender (talk) 08:19, 6 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

OK, thanks very much for your input and for also re-editing that sentence in the article. I had already purchased a DVD from eBay, but I'd much rather have the TCM imprint, as it has got to be better. If you hear of any sources for it, let me know! I'm doing professional research on Freddie Bartholomew. Thanks and best wishes and happy editing. Softlavender (talk) 08:29, 7 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Nice Edits on Kubrick article, but one Caveat

edit

You did some nice cleanup on the Stanley Kubrick article- however, I would like to note that while it is true that in Full Metal Jacket Private Leonard Lawrence is nicknamed "Gomer Pyle" by Sergeant Hartman in the film, not only does Hartman then refer to him as "Private Pyle", but the character is actually listed as "Private Pyle" in the closing credits of the film!!!! As such I think the designation of him in the picture caption as "Private Pyle" is relatively legit, although one could put the Pyle in quotes after the title Private as in Private "Pyle". However, I'm leaving your edit as is. It doesn't really make that much difference.--WickerGuy (talk) 17:45, 21 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Worst films article

edit

Hey Dutchmonkey. Just wanted to let you know, when it comes to List of films considered the worst, users can't simply add films to it, even if their entries are sourced. As per a long-standing WP:CONSENSUS, there needs to be discussion at the talk page first. Additionally, these films need reliable sources that explicitly describe it as one of the worst movies ever made. Even if you have those sources, you still need to run it through the talk page first. Just wanted to let you know. Thanks! — Hunter Kahn 22:23, 27 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Mint.com citation needed addition

edit

You mentioned my addition needing a citation. I'm not sure what you want to see. I can show you emails from Mint's customer service where they say they lost data. I can link to Mint's forums where their reps mention the data loss. There really isn't a news article to link to.

Warzinski (talk) 13:11, 24 August 2012 (UTC) WarzinskiReply

A link to Mint's forum's may help, Warzinksi, however, an item like this would normally be accompanied by a news article of some kind. Unless you actually have something solid to back these serious statements up, the information is solely your word, which doesn't fall within Wikipedia's guidelines. Spring House Gazebo

edit

Sorry I reverted your edits to Spring House Gazebo, but since you are the editor who added the material while also adding the citation needed tag to your own content, the burden falls on you to find references. Do feel free to return to Spring House Gazebo, but be aware that any unsourced content may be challenged or removed.– Gilliam (talk) 09:26, 12 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hey there Gilliam - I added citations and reverted the revert! Thanks! Dutchmonkey9000 (talk) 15:58, 12 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Your edit on AR-15

edit

Hello. I suggest you check more sources, instead of relying on just the Daily Mail (which isn't seen as a reliable source for anything on Wikipedia, BTW; see #1, #2) and then self-revert, because according to American sources (such as CNN) Mateen used a Sig Sauer rifle, not an AR-15. AR-15 is a Colt trade mark and not a generic name for "assault rifles", so adding the Orlando shooting to an article about the Colt AR-15 is wrong. The correct article would probably be SIG SG 516, which is a look-alike but not technically identical rifle from Sig Sauer, the exact model of Sig Sauer rifle hasn't been mentioned in the media, though. Cheers. Thomas.W talk 20:15, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

According to the latest news it was a Sig Sauer MCX, a new rifle that isn't related to the Colt AR-15 at all and doesn't have an article here on en-WP... Thomas.W talk 20:45, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Select Survey Invite

edit

I'm working on a study of political motivations and how they affect editing. I'd like to ask you to take a survey. The survey should take no more than 1-2 minutes. Your survey responses will be kept private. Our project is documented at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Research:Wikipedia_%2B_Politics.

Your survey Link: https://uchicago.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9S3JByWf57fXEkR?Q_DL=56np5HpEZWkMlr7_9S3JByWf57fXEkR_MLRP_71HMVLSKbrXj4O1&Q_CHL=gl

I am asking you to participate in this study because you are a frequent editor of pages on Wikipedia that are of political interest. We would like to learn about your experiences in dealing with editors of different political orientations.

Sincere thanks for your help! Porteclefs (talk) 20:07, 14 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Deception (1946 film), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Cello Concerto No. 2. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
