Prospectus

Slut Walk is a transnational movement[1] of protests marches calling for an end to rape culture.[2] Specifically, participants protest against explaining or excusing rape by referring to any aspect of a woman's appearance. This is related to Black Politics because it is about mobilization. I think they should add more information about the Amber Rose Slutwalk festival that can be found on her website and interviews.

Triple oppression Connection between various types of oppression, specifically classism, racism, and sexism. This is related to Black Politics because not it created to include multiple identities so nobody will be ignored. Specifically, the double jeopardy section. It doesn’t talk about the disadvantage like we talked about in class. It also doesn’t talk about additive and interactive model. This can all be added.

Misogynoir Misogyny directed towards black women where race and gender both play roles in bias. This, similar to triple oppression looks at identities and how they work together. Blackness and being a woman is connected with this theory. There’s not much talk about misogynoir in music and I know there’s a lot more to add to this section because I took an entire class on the subject.
