RfA thanks from Happy-melon

I just wanted to say thanks for your support for my RfA, which closed (74/2/0) this morning. Your comment and support was very much appreciated. Happymelon 14:55, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Articles

Thankyou number 2. Yes I;m feeling rather energetic today -plenty of coffee and chocolate. It is important we set these up and build upon them like I did to Ottrott etc. Evebtually theres no reason why every single one started can't be a full article -around 36,000 in France! It would be amazing to have a full articles and images for everyone. It is very nice not to receive another moaning comment which I usually get from people ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ $1,000,000? 19:46, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Thank you!

Hi, just dropping by to say thanks for supporting my RfA, I totally wasn't expecting to get so much support, it was a really pleasant surprise. Melesse (talk) 04:18, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Stewartstown.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 23:00, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Tobermore Additions

Thanks for adding the info box or whatever its called! Needa find a better pic for it tho lol :-) Mabuska (talk) 15:54, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

No problem, it looks like the article is pretty complete now. I see you've done a lot of work to the article and wrote a quite a lot about the village - if only everyone else from NI could add as much information about their local villages! Yeah, the site I was using for photographs is fairly good for freely-licensed images (Geograph) and I managed to get some half-decent pictures for Armagh and Cookstown, but unfortunately there weren't many good pics for Tobermore, it was either this or this! If you prefer the second one we could use it - unless you have some photos of Tobermore that maybe show it in a good light ;-). EJF (talk) 16:47, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
I don't have any but when i get my digital camera fixed i think i'll take a shot on a good day from the top of the town as it'll capture most of the village. Article is near complete but there are a few more bits i need to get my hands on to put into it, namely about the success story of Tobermore Concrete and the prestigious awards they have won in recent years. Also need to get a few pics of places in the town just to add more imagery to the article. And yep if only everyone else tried to get as much info up but hey i love my wee village! :-P Mabuska (talk) 13:35, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

RFA thanks

Blathur

Hi, I'm curious as to why you closed this AfD when there was still a pending question that I'd hoped would have been addressed before it was closed. Thanks! Travellingcari (talk) 19:30, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Hello, I closed the AfD as after a 5 day listing consensus had been reached. In regards to your question, it had not been answered after 30 hours, and there was no prospect of further discussion. In regards to the question which you asked, perhaps you could discuss the issue concerned with the 'keep' commenters on his/her talk page, or you could start the debate here at WP:NPT, as a new policy with regards to places and transportation is being formulated; I'm sure your input will be appreciated. If you have any other questions feel free to ask me. Cheers, EJF (talk) 19:49, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Gotcha, thanks. It's not so much that I disagree with the keeps since I understand they're inherently notable (when the nom and I first discussed it, we weren't certain it existed and the page is still a disaster), rather that I question blind faith "it's notable" when it wasn't clear whether we could verify that it did exist. I'll go check out WP:NPT. And I'm all in favor of continuity in discussion so I was watching your page :) Travellingcari (talk) 19:52, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Hors d'oeuvre

Based on the overwhelming evidence presented by 2 different users, would you consider stopping by the Talk:Hors d'œuvre to strike or change your vote not to move Talk:Hors d'œuvre to Hors d'oeuvre. Time

Not to complain or anything, and you where probably correct, but just so you know:

Contributors sometimes create articles over several edits, so try to avoid deleting a page too soon after its creation if it appears incomplete. Users nominating a page for speedy deletion should specify which criteria the page meets and consider notifying the page's creator.

My computer was overheating a bit at the time when I was making that article so I kept crashing :/ Didn't have time to write much in the article itself... This one is about the Storm Weather Shanty Choir

Anyways, I wasn't aware of the notebilety policy of wikipedia (that article was my first attempt), so thanks for Informing me :) And keep up the good work :) It's good someone cares about this wiki..
Luredreier 13:43, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

I am sorry if you had not time to finish it before it was deleted. Hopefully now you can continue the article here until it is finished and has sources, then you can move it back into the encyclopedia. Keep up the editing! EJF (talk) 13:58, 16 February 2008 (UTC
Don't be sorry :)
Anyways I think you're probably right anyways when it comes to this choir, I don't know of any proper evidence for their notabilety.
I just whished you had waited a little longer, after all other's might have a important article they're starting on and if they're as new as me they might be disscuraged from finishing it if they get a message like that just a few min after starting on the article.
Still, thanks for bothering with doing this work in the first place :)
It's important that articles that ain't good enough is deleted.

Nousernamesleft

Hi, EJF, thanks for voting in my RfA, which passed with 47 supports (I hoped for a perfect square, but two away is close enough!), 3 opposes (the first odd prime), and 0 neutrals. I'm glad the community has decided to trust me with the mop and bucket (the flamethrower isn't supported). Of course, special thanks goes to my nominators Auawise and that one guy who buried stuff (not that the thanks I give to the you isn't special!). If you ever need a hand with something, or just want to say hello, tough feel free to drop a line! Best wishes, Nousernamesleftcopper, not wood 23:01, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

This doesn't even vaguely resemble a mop, but I couldn't find a picture of one.

AfD Radlands

Thanks for taking the time to improve an article under AfD. Danke sagt Neozoon 00:08, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Kein Problem! Meine Meinung ist dass es sehr wichtig ist, beachtenswerte Artikel zu bewahren. ( sorry for my grammar, I'm still only a beginner :) ). EJF (talk) 16:43, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Hi and thanks for closing the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Severed crotch page. It was late last night, and only after deleting the "article" did I realize that it had actually not been requested for speedy deletion. All the best, <KF> 04:37, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

No problem, it was probably going to be a WP:SNOW closure anyway :) EJF (talk) 16:40, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

I wasn't offended, and thanks for being so polite :) Ostap 20:32, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

OK thanks for your understanding :) I realise that I have been on Wikipedia too much recently on different things and need to take a break from here for a short time because getting a bit irritable does not help me, the encyclopedia or other users. Sincerely, EJF (talk) 20:53, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

TrimWater

What makes TrimWater spam as opposed to Ramune or Red Red Energy drink? The tone isn't advertising. Red Rain energy drink isn't notable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sugarisbad (talkcontribs) 21:53, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Please read WP:SPAM, as much of the article is exactly that. Although thank you for telling me about Red Rain, I am going to nominate it at AfD now as well. Regards, EJF (talk) 22:33, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

RFA

Thanks for participating in my RFA, which closed successfully with 40 supports, 13 opposes, and 4 neutrals. For those of you who supported my RFA, I greatly appreciate it. For those who did not, I'm also thankful for your constructive criticism. If you need some advice or have some pointers for me, you know where to reach me! A special thank you to Majorly for all his time and effort he has placed in my nomination. Once again, thank you all for your helpful comments. Now off to new admin school! Cheers, Icestorm815Talk 01:15, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

I have answered your question in the "discussion" area also. I havent done much editing in the German Wiki but I regularly use it to read up different things. Thanks for taking the time... --Camaeron (talk) 18:34, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Thank you, EJF, for your support in my RfB. I appreciate your trust. Thanks also for the question; I am glad my answer was satisfactory. Acalamari 22:02, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

  • I'm sorry to see you have withdrew your RfB. I wish you the best of luck next time (which I hope there will be). As long as you remain a civil, good-faith user (a certainty, I hope!) and gain some more experience I am sure all editors here will see that you will be a fine 'crat. Best regards, EJF (talk) 23:03, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks mate for your kind words. Its a bit of a kick in teeth to have put in so much this project and to keep getting messages like that! But he apologized which I accept and I will move on as many seem to have stopped adding those French towns! If I get a negative message like that in the future I'll make a note to just delete and remember there are people who appreciate me!! Its off putting though when the super deletionists keep hounding you and it doesn't exactly propel you into contributing. Regards ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 18:02, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
