Hello, please note that I've moved the post you made at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ed O'Loughlin 2nd attempt to the very bottom of the page. I believe that this is in line with the guidelines at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion which state that comments should be started on a new line - placing it at the start of the discussion meant that it was unclear when in the discussion you made your comment. I have not changed the content of your post in any way (please see this link: [1] to see the impact of the change) and I hope that this is OK and apologise in advance if it is not. About your point that we are not public

therefore somehow we cannot write about u, please keep in mind that we are not getting paid we are volunteers why should we make our names public, and please not that u yourself write that u r the subject of plenty of public scrunti, i agree with u that u should have the right for an objective biography, but if u think u can just shut up this process by just deleting the whole think u r mistaken, eventually, if what u say is right that u r the subject of publicity, that the article will be recreated by some other fan or detractor please save your endless hopeless fight to delete it, and instead focus on balancing out the negative unjustified negativity. yours truly--YY (talk) 11:54, 18 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I read your criticism of Wikipedia and I certainly believe it's valid, not just for you but for many others.

At the same time, I should point out that in this case, the community of regular editors fought tooth and nail to keep the second article from staying. I know I spent several hours on this myself. So in some sense, this worked. It was plain to my fellow editor-nerds and I that most of the opposition to deleting your article came from "single purpose accounts". In the final decision for any article, notwithstanding their verbiage, such points of view are always heavily discounted by the deciding administrator.

After the first deletion discussion, by the way, your name was on several watchlists to watch for any attempt to re-create an "attack article". After this second version, your name has now been "protected" (locked down at the software-level) to prevent a third recurrence without administrator intervention.

Also, please see our policy on biographies of living people. You have certain absolute rights that over-ride most other considerations on Wikipedia. At some level of fame, you have to take the good with the bad -- we don't give George Bush or Kevin Rudd or even plain old MPs a free pass, but you're not at that level. And even then, any coverage of controversy here has to be balanced and sourced using reliable sources.

Anyway, if you wish, you can request deletion ("courtesy blanking") of the deletion discussion pages:

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when.
