Speedy deletion nomination of Fleetwood Joiner
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Fleetwood Joiner requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Help me!
editHelped As a first time Wiki writer, I had the great fortune to work with the Wiki group at the Getty today on my article on the Architect, Mr. Fleetwood Joiner. I followed the guidelines and had a tutor assisting me. He reviewed the page, format, citations, etc. and said it was according to guidelines. I received an email within a 1/2 hour that the article was being SPEEDILY DELETED, "because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it DOES NOT INDICATE how or why THE SUBJECT IS IMPORTANT or significant" Mr. Joiner was the architect on the LARGEST HOME in Southern CA. That is what one of the reasons he is significant. There is a published article proving that fact that I will cite, along with photographs. I did not have the article with me today; I am a first time contributor and understood I could edit later. Additionally, I will add other projects he has done that make him unique, "important AND significant." Cannot I have a few days to gather the data you require? Please understand that I am a first time contributor. Thank You!
Please help me with...

- Hello Elaine, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your tutor may have misguided you just a little bit. An article in the main space is open for deletion the second you hit the submit button. We do however have a couple areas you can work on drafts Draft:Fleetwood Joiner or User:Elaine Newcomer/sandbox these are areas specifically setup for new articles to incubate and to be worked on, until they are ready for the main article space. I would suggest to ask User:Bbb23 to userfy the article to one of the spaces mentioned prior. If you need any further help please reply here and use {{ping|mcmatter}} to get my attention.- McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 04:21, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
