editList of longest-running video game franchises - regular releases rule
editOne reboot in 25+ years doesn't qualify a franchise's listing in the table, that means no Battletoads, Alex Kidd and Kid Icarus. If I'm not mistaken the thumbrule for "regular releases" was no more 10 years between each game. That would disqualify a lot of new additions. Read further rules in the article's lead section. Pong, Breakout and Asteroids, franchises with 20+ year gaps, qualify far more than most of them, yet were previously removed from the table.
As was said, it's not a "List of oldest running franchises". If someone released "OXO 2" that wouldn't place it at 70 year record because it needs a regular release. Also don't add games that don't have a specific release date announced (2022, 2023, 20XX whatever). -Vipz (talk) 08:01, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for reaching out! I suppose not. By the way, I discovered a new gacha for Metal Slug was recently shadow-dropped, so now it does have 25 years. Also, have you checked the article's talk page? -Vipz (talk) 14:08, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
- Metal Slug should probably be re-added with Metal Slug: Commander's release. Some of your added franchises have been dormant for over 10 years (pre-2011) or have had far and few between releases, most of which were earlier kept off the table. Atari is notorious for barely re-releasing / remaking some of its ancients every 10 to 20 years (e.g. Intellivision Amico all of a sudden). The list on the talk page with crossed-out entries are merely considerations and most aren't truly notable to get listed unless they begin having more releases in future.
- I'd say these should be removed if you're asking: 19XX, Punch-Out!!, Paperboy, Archon and Buster Bros. (unofficial game). Gradius, Micro Machines, Qix, Pitfall!, Zaxxon, Centipede can be considered but I wouldn't personally list them. You can list the ones you remove on the talk page list. Thanks for editing this article. -Vipz (talk) 10:39, 25 August 2021 (UTC)
- ± a year or two if they were frequent otherwise, like Ghosts 'n Goblins, should stay. That's my opinion. -Vipz (talk) 14:12, 25 August 2021 (UTC)

Dokapon (series) moved to draftspace
editUnfortunately, an article you recently created Dokapon (series), is not ready as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage with citations from reliable and independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. I've moved your article to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's WP:GNG guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!
