Your story mentions that the material was copied "with permission," but that permission has to be sent to Wikipedia. The complete procedure is detailed here. It might be easier to simply rewrite the information in your own words instead (it is for me).
Use of DEFAULTSORT
editHi. I see you've recently added or amended several categories to articles on EA composers. You may not be aware of the magic word {{DEFAULTSORT:sort key}} which changes the sort order of all following categories in that article to "sort key" – see Wikipedia:Categorization#Sort_key_shortcuts.
So, for example, when there's already a {{DEFAULTSORT:Bayle, François}} definition in an article, it's unnecessary to add the name to the category as [[Category:Electroacoustic music composers|Bayle, François]].
It's also useful to add DEFAULTSORT when you're adding several new categories to an article – it saves typing!
Hope this helps. Smalljim 14:38, 26 April 2007 (UTC) (If you want to reply, please do so here - I'll be watching.)
- Thanks for the tip (there are so many options in wiki!); we will "update" our brain! Electrocdwiki 23:09, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
Pierre Alexandre Tremblay
editAnother editor has added the {{prod}}
template to the article Pierre Alexandre Tremblay, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}}
template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? -- Eastmain (talk) 04:03, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
editHello Electrocdwiki! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 11 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to these articles, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Disambiguation link notification for October 23
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of acousmatic-music composers, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Jacques Tremblay. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:01, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
