please attempt to do all your edits in one session, as it makes it difficult for others who are also editing the page. also, a WikiProject for Nigeria has also been set up recently, I encourage your participation. thanks.--gozar 16:36, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Quite the contrary. My overhaul actually rectified many of the issues of this page including proper citation (which was the biggest problem), gramatical errors, and re-organization.

It seems that you are just editing certain sections. Why don't you just do that instead turning the page back to its poor original state?

Rose (Street Fighter)

edit

Prove it. Changes brought back.

  • From Tiamat's Street Fighter Plot Canon Guide ver 4.4:

SFA2 = Street Fighter Alpha 2. SFA2's storyline overrides SFA1. Capcom has stated as such.

Later on:

********************************** pgIVSFA1.

STREET FIGHTER ALPHA (STREET FIGHTER ZERO in Japan)

Story: You see all those dialogues and all those endings and all those storyline bits that happen in Street Fighter Alpha 1? FORGET EVERYTHING ABOUT THEM. Capcom has officially stated that Street Fighter Alpha 2 is the real storyline as to how the events here happened. Even several of the non-conflicting endings in SFA1 that don't conflict with SFA2 have official statements that contradict them, really (not for all, tho). Considering that Alpha 1 was actually incomplete and that Alpha 2 was the complete version, this makes sense, too (another official statement. And also why Alpha 1 had such a freaking small playable characters roster). However, there are some endings that look like they could eerily fit in and be merged with SFA2.

This guide is the most up-to-date listing of canon available, based almost entirely on Japanese mooks and statements from CoJ. It's already established by all SF fans worth their salt. Don't change it back; it will be considered vandalism. Danny Lilithborne 06:18, 13 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • Not to mention that everything known about Rose absolutely does not jive with her being from a "mysterious organization", as said in Alpha 1. Rose is acting on her own volition (or so it seems). Danny Lilithborne 06:22, 13 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thats not an official comment from Capcom. Just a fan making a comment. You obviously haven't played the game (or beat it with Rose) otherwise you'd know what i'm talking about. I am remaking the page and will have it locked until you can prove that Capcom can officially make it as such. Eman007

  • Go for it. Like I said, every SF fan knows this already, you're the deluded fan making comments. Please actually read the document before thinking that you know more than people that have been playing the game for years. Danny Lilithborne 06:35, 13 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm getting this heated over a freakin' video game character. Sorry... you're right, of course, about sources. But I can't give you what you need right now. I need to sleep off this general irritation I have and then work on the problem in the morning. I already sent a note to some of my friends asking for sources straight from the hourse's mouth. Sorry for getting all over you about it. Danny Lilithborne 07:42, 13 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Apology accepted. Sure thing. Take your time. It isn't about something important. Goodnight. Eman007

Hello, when you want to link to the article about antiquity, please do not link to antiquity, as that is a disambiguation page (which nothing should be linked to). Instead link to the one of the options found on that page such as ancient history or classical antiquity by writing out [[ancient history|antiquity]] or [[classical antiquity|antiquity]]. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Modernhntersgaroyles.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Modernhntersgaroyles.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Unspecified source for Image:Goliathdisney.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Goliathdisney.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:36, 5 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 20:36, 5 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Goliathdisney.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Goliathdisney.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 20:37, 5 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've deleted this image of a street map, which you tagged as {{CopyrightedFreeUse-Link}}. Simply scanning a map does not make you the copyright holder; whoever designed this map, or whoever the designer sold the rights to, is the copyright holder. Picaroon (t) 04:33, 23 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Guatemclan2.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Guatemclan2.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 04:47, 19 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:29, 28 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Titania.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use.

If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:03, 13 July 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Cirt (talk) 15:03, 13 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:Londonclan.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

AfD nomination of Places in Disney's Gargoyles

edit

I have nominated Places in Disney's Gargoyles, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Places in Disney's Gargoyles. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. I take exception with your edit summary to this edit, in which you imply that IP editors are not supposed to make substantial edits to articles. Are you familiar with Wikipedia:Please do not bite the newcomers? --Stepheng3 (talk) 18:38, 26 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sorry I was unclear. I'll try to be clearer and connect more of the dots in my thinking.
First, I believe that the thing you implied is not true. I don't know of any commonly-accepted policy or guideline that tells people to log in before making wholesale or substantial edits. I think this is a notion of your own that you're using (in good faith) to discourage this editor from contributing.
I assume 64.81.57.93 is a newcomer and not an established user. Someone who's made less than 60 edits fits my concept of a newcomer. Someone who has no welcome message on his or her talk page also fits my concept of a newcomer. (I just went and added a welcome message using {{subst:welcome-anon}}.) What you wrote in the edit summary was not in the spirit of welcoming newcomers to the project, which is what the guideline I cited is about.
I'm also worried that you're trying to communicate with this user via edit summaries, which are easily missed, even by experienced users with watchlists and all. If the edits he or she is making aren't constructive, you should explain why on the user's talk page, focusing on the nature of edit itself instead of the (to me, unimportant) detail that the person who made it was not logged in.
Cheers,--Stepheng3 (talk) 19:59, 29 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Removal of information

edit

Hi! I saw Financial District, San Francisco and saw in this edit http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Financial_District,_San_Francisco&diff=336711666&oldid=331712478 that you removed information on companies and consulates without giving an edit summary. Please give edit summaries when you remove substantial blocks of information. Thank you WhisperToMe (talk) 01:33, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Signature on the Tenderloin talk page

edit

First off, thanks for the work cleaning up the Neighborhood articles. I noticed when you added that latest comment to Talk:Tenderloin, San Francisco#Cleanup and Editing, it showed 2006 as the year, do you think you could resign that comment to get the date corrected. Also you can link the policies with some bullets and links as opposed to URLs (you can just copy & paste the text below from the edit window). Is there any particular IP or editor you are referring to with your comments? -Optigan13 (talk) 00:19, 16 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the compliment. As far as posting wikipedia policy, I meant it for past, current, and future editors to that page. Looking at that talk page and history of the article, its mind-blowing that people were able to get away with such policy violations. I will continue to keep an eye for such violations.— Preceding text originally posted on User talk:Optigan13 (diff) by Eman007 (talkcontribs) 18:44, 16 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
I've refactored your wording on that talk a bit (diff), revert me if you want, but that weird date threw me a bit. With a lot of wiki articles you'll get a mix of various problematic edits, with lots of little additions that have minor things wrong with them adding up, and unless someone goes through and does the cleanup to make it consistent and remove the errors it'll have the hodgepodge of issues. It's a fine line between ownership, and trying to maintain some consistency in an article. -Optigan13 (talk) 06:09, 17 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

3RR warning

edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on San Francisco. Users who edit disruptively or refuse to collaborate with others may be blocked if they continue. In particular the three-revert rule states that making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the talk page to discuss controversial changes. Work towards wording and content that gains consensus among editors. If unsuccessful then do not edit war even if you believe you are right. Post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Binksternet (talk) 14:21, 15 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text , but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

I have blocked your account from editing for 24 hours because of numerous personal attacks at WP:WQA. "Disgusting and vile", "abusive little crusade", "dishonest", etc.; these go way beyond the pale. Looie496 (talk) 01:49, 17 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

{{unblock|The block is not and no longer necessary. I got a bit upset and I apologize to you specifically. I will not do it again and will make more useful contributions to wikipedia.}}

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Good enough, thank you. Happy editing!

Request handled by: Looie496 (talk)

Unblocking administrator: Please check for active autoblocks on this user after accepting the unblock request.

You are also advised not to mark your edits as "minor" when they clearly not minor; that is considered disruptive editing to continue to do that. Basic talk page posts, significant additions/deletions of information, significant changes to information, or any changes to information that may get challenged should not be marked as minor. Financial District

edit

Hello, Eman!

About http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Financial_District,_San_Francisco&diff=337110163&oldid=337108300

Consulates are considered to be very important institutions. They are vital, so they are relevant and useful when considering inner city neighborhoods.

I have restored them.

Also when you have an article about a business district, the reader should expect to see information about the largest employers and what specific buildings they occupy.

In order to determine the largest, let the listed companies appear and appear and appear, and then when there's too many, that's when we decide what to take out. Or find a list of the largest companies in the business district. WhisperToMe (talk) 07:42, 8 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
