Article Evaluation

edit

I was a little thrown off by the fact that one of their strengths is considered to be gentle and non-aggressive and how at the beginning of the article it talks about their great ability to defend themselves against pests. Doesn't this make them aggressive? Maybe it should be stated in a clearer manner how they're nice to one another and mean/aggressive to invaders/pests.

The author(s) should probably include some information on their life cycle instead of simply saying that the Carniolan bee population increases during the Spring when more nectar and pollen are available. Providing some type of bee life cycle information will give the reader some insight as to why things happen, and allow them to ask other questions, possibly sparking their own interest to further research the topic, and as a result as more information to this article.

I do believe that everything in the article is relevant and I wasn't really distracted by anything in particular.

The author assumes one already knows about bee robing, and other topics such as "low use of propolis", etc. Maybe definitions should be provided.

The overall tone of the article is neutral.

I really enjoyed the section labels and how the article was broken down as it made it easier to read and follow along. I also liked how the strengths and weaknesses were broken down to bullet points as this made it easier to compare and contrast.

I author should have given some background information about the Italian honey bee as well since they were used a lot to compare and contrast the Carniolan honey bees.

I would have liked to see a section about their environmental importance.

The citation links do work and they do support the claims. They are also cited properly. I would have liked to see more links.

The talk page seems to make similar remarks to mine above mentioning awkward statements and weirdly worded statements. Others also added additional sources which make the information clearer.

The article was rated as C-Class insect article, and is not part of any WikiProjects at the moment.
