Names in Thorndon

I can understand you wish to give special prominence to Lord Cooke but should he not just receive the same status as anyone else? His only reason for appearing on this Thorndon page is because he chose the word Thorndon to distinguish him from the (no doubt many) other Lord Cookes. It is necessary for purposes of identifying him because "Robyn Cooke" needs some supplementing. I think he was a resident of the suburb at some point in his childhood (he chose to be identified with it in his title). I think the wiki rule is no honorifics in such lists so I agree with you that we should avoid putting the title Lord in front of his name.Emendment (talk) 00:59, 21 June 2018 (UTC)

What's of interest about Robyn Cooke and Thorndon? Give him his correct name at the time of his death and that gives the reason for his mention in the Thorndon article. His Only tie to the article is his choice of differentiating name for his life peerage. I'd forgotten the list was divided into streets and the closest main street to Halswell that fits is Murphy so I've moved the note down there. Eddaido (talk) 02:31, 21 June 2018 (UTC)

In general topics, the term is "Roman Catholic"

That was an agreement made more than a year ago. I can't seem to find the discussion, but consensus was that in Catholic-specific discussions, the term to use is "Catholic". In general discussions, the correct term is "Roman Catholic" as it is the common name, and there are other denominations that use catholic in their name.
