You need to have a look at WP:CITE, there does not need to be a link for a source to be valid, it's a book. See also WP:EDITWAR. TylerBurden (talk) 11:34, 13 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Dear Emenrigen, I was a bit surprised by this edit. Have you read the entire article so that you understand the information properly in context? Also, on what do you base your belief that everybody all of a sudden forgot the old language?--Berig (talk) 15:26, 13 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Yes, and according to Melknikova, they started to speak OES, in the mid 10th c. but the knowledge of ON was not lost until the late 11th c. This makes the Rus' elite bilingual during that time.--Berig (talk) 19:02, 13 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
As you probably realize, language change in a population does not take place overnight. It takes several generations, and during that time that population is bilingual.--Berig (talk) 19:05, 13 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • Berig, the sentence you are referring to is: Parallel Old Norse («Russian») and Slavic names of the Dnieper rapids listed in the treatise suggest that Constantine’s informant, a representative of rus was bilingual. Here are talking about the Vikings of the time of Constantine Porphyrogenitus. Emenrigen (talk) 19:11, 13 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Further, it is said about the Varangians that in the 11th c. they basically lost Old Norse. Emenrigen (talk) 19:13, 13 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Yes, but the time we are talking about is the mid 10th century, not the 11th century. Nobody denies that they lost Old Norse during the 11th century.--Berig (talk) 19:15, 13 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
He just modified yours, and I doubt that TylerBurden minds my change. If he does, he can discuss it with me.--Berig (talk) 19:56, 13 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Good morning, Berig. To be honest, I do not fully understand your point of view, but after you accused me of being destructive, my opinion of you has changed a lot. Emenrigen (talk) 05:30, 14 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Dear Ermigen, please try to have some good faith here, and try to trust me. I did not accuse you of being "destructive". I just pointed out that I think you need to get better acquainted with the topic before you start reverting.--Berig (talk) 05:46, 14 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Berig, just give a full quote from the source, without gag like "bilingual". Emenrigen (talk) 05:56, 14 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Oh, my! Why don't you read Melnikova's article from beginning to end instead, so you get the context?--Berig (talk) 08:51, 14 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Regarding this comment on Talk:Volodymyr Zelenskyy: he *does* have two legs in the picture. Try viewing it with higher brightness and contrast. Kleinpecan (talk) 09:43, 28 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Kleinpecan, even when the focus function is turned on, nothing is visible. Sincerely, Emenrigen (talk) 09:48, 28 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
