It is great! I would like to do the same work in the hungarian wikipedia. How could I do that? Thanks. NCurse work 15:52, 3 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

It's a script in bash for Linux. It needs an input of all the articles in Commons, and it find articles without image using interwikis. I can do for Hungarian Wikipedia. :P --Emijrp 17:08, 3 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
We would be unbelievably thankful. :)) NCurse work 19:12, 3 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
After we've completed work on this comparison, we could use the script to see the images missing on Enlish Wikipedia compared to another big language Wikipedia. There are different biases for every language (e.g. German Wikipedia exposes a lot of coats of arms for towns in Germany, which are useful). --Oldak Quill 15:54, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Emijrp for the useful list.

I've gone over T-Z. Can you check my remaining comments and delete if they're OK? Should I continue the same way?

Hi. I've just removed all the articles from the list(m-s) which now have an image, which is available at wikimedia commons. dbalsdon 18:17, 5 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I don't understand these listings

edit

I came here from a link on the WP:Community Portal. I don't understand these listings. What are those numbers in the section headings? What is the meaning of the sections? And most importantly, how does the script guess which images might be appropriate for an article? Explanations needed please, I am confused!—greenrd 20:00, 5 May 2007 (UTC) Also, why is the word "Imagen" used, instead of "image" or "images"?—greenrd 20:01, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Imagen are German "images". How the script knows has mystified me too, though in my case it hasn't stopped me from placing really good orphan images into articles like crazy! I've done A through C, but I keep getting distracted byu the articles themselves... --Wetman 20:27, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Imagen is the spanish word for Image, sorry but I didn't translate script. Sections name is a random number between 1000 and 5000, only for non-repetition-purposes. Script loads the german-version article by interwikis, if it exists. And bot sees the german article searching for images when our article in english haven't got any image. --Emijrp 07:59, 8 May 2007 (UTC) P.S: Code is availableReply

Getting images from Chinese Wikipedia

edit

I know that there're many images (especially images about Chinese culture) in Chinese Wikipedia that can be placed into English articles (and vice versa). How come I do so? OhanaUnitedTalk page 06:30, 8 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
