Article Evaluation
editI visited the Lord Hill Regional Park article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: Is each fact cited with an appropriate, reliable source? Is the article up-to-date?, and Is anything left out of the article that should be there? The first question I am answering Is, ‘is each fact cited with an appropriate, reliable source?’ When looking at this page I see it isn’t a very long article. Aside from that, the 4 references seem to be reliable. Yet the first article titled is "Heirman Wildlife Preserve at Thomas' Eddy.” This park listed on the website is not the Lord Hill Regional park that the Wikipedia page is talking about. To add on, the third article appears to be a lifestyle blog post. Which in this case may be a positive addition to this article. The woman who wrote this article has had first-hand experience on parts of the hike. Therefore can put her thoughts and ideas into the park.
The second question I am answering is, “ Is the article up-to-date?” According to the article, the page was last edited on September 24th, 2021 at 5:57 pm. Although it has been recently updated, one of the articles was published in 2001. This can lead to changes in the article that has occurred since it was published.
My final question to be answered about this article is if there is anything left out of the article that should be there? I would say there is a bit of information that could be missing. This article doesn’t include a map of where the park is in comparison to Washington, has no pictures of the park, and doesn’t specify or show trail maps within the “1,300 acres (5.3 km2) of wilderness forest.”
In conclusion, the Lord Hill Regional Park article has a lot of components worth commenting on. Three of these aspects are whether or not each fact was cited with an appropriate, reliable source, if the article is up-to-date, and If anything was left out of the article that should be there? This concluded some of the sources may not relate to the article, be old and not include changes to the park, and lastly not containing pictures or trail information.
