Hi Emilykayhanks, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the course instructor right to your account, as you have demonstrated a need for it through the Wikipedia Education Program. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and will just allow you to be able to access the course extension as well as create and edit course pages. If you are interested in accessing the course extension so that you might be able to create a course page right now, here is the link. For more information on the course instructor right, see this page. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Kevin Rutherford (talk) 11:23, 27 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Van Day Truex

edit

The Wikipedia communication system is really Byzantine. Some weeks ago I submitted an article on Van Day Truex, former head of Parsons School of Design and director of design at Tiffany & Co. He was a recipient of the French Legion of Honor. The rejection of my article was based on insufficient references but every sentence in the article is based on Day's biography by Adam Lewis, title: Van Day Truex, published by Viking. I did supply that source as a reference at the end. In no point in the article is there a sentence that needs to refer to any other source. All this is familiar to me because Truex was my mother's first cousin and I had met him a few times. I am trying to get back to the rejecting reviewer but do not know how. I am a librarian retired from San Diego State University. William J. Pease, San Diego ~ ~ ~ 18:38, 18 September 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by William J. Pease (talkcontribs)

Creating a user page

edit

Hi, Emily! I was putting a list of classes in the Wikipedia Education Program together and thought you may want to create a user page for yourself (noticed your red link)! Just include some relevant information, perhaps linking to your Course Page. It's not necessary but is helpful for communicating with others on-wiki! Hope your class is going well! Ping me if you need anything. JMathewson (WMF) (talk) 21:08, 25 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

List of tollways in Texas

edit

Hello there! I'm an editor active with the U.S. Roads WikiProject, and some of your students have been working on List of tollways in Texas. I just wanted to let you know that I've seen the work being done on the article, and much of the additional text that was added was a bit haphazardly added. I left some commentary on the article's talk page, and even created the skeleton of the main table so that it follows the standards expected of such tables. (As a side note, I recently brought List of Interstate Highways in Michigan up to Featured List [FL] standards, and helped overhaul List of Interstate Highways in Texas, which was promoted to FL status years ago but was not using the newer, more specific, project-level standards our wikiproject has developed for these types of lists.) Since then, I reorganized the article to consolidate the number of top-level headings by grouping them into larger topics. The article lacks a section that deals with the overall details of how tolls are assessed or collected. This is the biggest current omission in the article.

As of right now, the article has the structure necessary for others to fill in the details. There are three tables that are missing details (two on the various toll road agencies, by type, plus the big list of the toll road facilities themselves) in addition to the current section on tolls for one region of the state that needs to be broadened to cover the entire state's toll roads. Hello from Toni!

Hi Dr. Hanks, The assignment was to introduce myself on the talk page of another student in the course, but I am the only student currently signed up so I am introducing myself on your talk page! My name is Toni Schach and I am in your Tues/Thurs class. I look forward to working on this project and making a contribution to wikipedia. Tmschach (talk) 20:50, 28 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 22:36, 14 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
