Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "EMIROFWIIKIPEDIA", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it impersonates Emir of Wikipedia. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. 2601:647:5800:1A1F:3C39:21C4:F358:1C27 (talk) 22:53, 6 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

username

I've blocked you as your name may be impersonating User:Emir of Wikipedia. You are very welcome to change your name. Secretlondon (talk) 22:53, 6 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Secretlondon, It's obvious to me that this is not impersonation. Emir is a common term across South Asia meaning "lord". There is no evidence of malicious editing, no overlapping edits, no attempt to impersonate. Even capitalisation is visibly distinct. To block a new editor at sight - an editor who started their Wikipedia adventure with constructive work - without first communicating and explaining is quite heavy-handed and against WP:AGF and WP:Etiquette. Please reconsider. — kashmīrī TALK 23:47, 6 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Kashmiri, The user Secretlondon did not even notify me OR give me a chance to change my username, is this show wiki works?! blocking new users just because their username coincides with existing user? EMIROFWIIKIPEDIA (talk) 01:52, 7 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
I'm sorry about it. Wikipedia doesn't normally work this way when the editor is not editing in a disruptive manner. You should normally have been welcomed here and kindly advised to consider changing your username.
@Secretlondon, the user has changed their username, please unblock. For future reference, GF editors should never be blocked solely because their username resembles that of a different editor. — kashmīrī TALK 06:38, 7 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
How rude, Did you even notify me OR give me a chance to change my username? EMIROFWIIKIPEDIA (talk) 01:50, 7 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

2. You will have 24 hours to fill in an unblock request for a change of username before you get re-blocked.

If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Thank you.
