Speedy deletion nomination of LaSalle National Bank

edit

A tag has been placed on LaSalle National Bank requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Moves

edit

Never move a page by copy-pasting it. Always use the move tab at the top of the screen. See WP:MOVE. Also, it is extremely poor form to move the article while there is an ongoing requested move; you can't very well claim ignorance on that, as you've participated in the discussion. --Golbez (talk) 18:59, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have no aim of claiming ignorance, but I think you'll find a consensus was developing to support the move, so I moved it myself. Sorry about copy-pasting. Empire NJ (talk) 19:00, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
You have a conflict of interest; you voted in the poll. Furthermore, the current tally is three supports to three opposes - that's no consensus by any imaginable definition of the term, except that there is a current consensus that there is no consensus. Furthermore, RMs tend to last a week, not a day. --Golbez (talk) 19:04, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Ok, I didn't realize they lasted that long. Empire NJ (talk) 19:05, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Understood. The consensus was not even the slightest bit formed. Sswonk (talk) 19:11, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Canvassing

edit

Please see WP:CANVASS. I recognize you are new around here, but you seem to be going about some things without finding out how they work first. --Smashvilletalk 19:07, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sears/Willis Tower

edit

You are veering dangerously close to engaging in an Edit War at the Willis Tower article, with regard to how to refer to the two names in the lead sentence. By some definitions, you have already violated the 3 revert rule. You obviously have strong opinions on this matter, but please try not to engage in revert warring and allow a consensus to develop. If I find that you are edit warring, I will not hesitate to block you from editing. Also, I have temporarily moved the page back to Sears Tower. This is in no way an endorsement of your view. Please work with other editors to develop a final consensus on the proper title of the article, and respect that consensus once it is established. Cool3 (talk) 19:28, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sears or Willis requested move

edit

Hi, I hope everything is alright with you. The debate appears to have stopped suddenly after I placed the arbitrary break polling summary at the end. I hope people aren't taking this to mean that the debate is over; the arbitrary break is used to insert a convenient subsection to a long debate so that editors can click the "Edit" link next to the subsection rather than at the very top of the discussion, saving them download and scrolling delays when they have a quick comment to make. But, the debate has possibly reached it's conclusion with little more to say as well, so you may want to insert a comment below the last line of the polling summary, possibly either asking for a few more days or asking for an uninvolved admin to close if you think it's a lost cause. There have been no edits for nearly 24 hours, and I think it is significant that the halt came after the summary was added. The fact that only the Serbian Wikipedia, among the alphabets I can read, is still using "Sears" may be because no one has bothered to change it there, I don't know. At any rate, I am confident you will make the right decision I am just worried you think I made it look like the debate is over which was not my intention. If you haven't seen it, I think this is a great video of the Chicago skyscrapers, and the videographer is mostly silent, only naming one building: the one he is standing on, Marina City, East Tower. If you haven't seen it already I hope you enjoy it. Sswonk (talk) 15:59, 25 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
