AMA Request
editHi - I've looked at your new AMA case, and although, at this stage, I am not your advocate, I have left a question there for other advocates, to help them make a decision on it. Here is a link. Thanks, Martinp23 19:01, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
- Hi again, I have closed your case, as it would appear to be solved (though I may well be mistaken, in which case feel free to poke me). My huge apologies for the fact that you didn't get a advocate - most of us are (and were) already on cases. Martinp23 22:25, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
About the WWV issue
editGreetings. I noticed my username linked to your request for assistance, and wanted to make a clear response to the assistance request. The last thing I saw the NIST document you discovered linked on my user page, suggesting that the progression of voices on WWV was as follows: Don Elliot, John Doyle, Lee Rodgers. To me, this seems an appropriate source, and needs no further discussion, but only an edit and reference on the WWV page. That edit was never done, but I have taken it upon myself to make it, as I believe the source to be solid.
The original dispute about the announcer on the WWV page (as nearly as I could understand) was whether John Doyle was the current announcer on WWV. I found secondary sources which suggested John Doyle was the current voice; your source seems to suggest that the truth is that he's a past announcer. If any dispute continues about this material, I am not a part of it; I agree with your source as the best found to date, as soon as it was brought to my attention. If I made the mistake of not responding to you to say so, I apologize.
