Orphaned non-free media (Image:Zimaon.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Zimaon.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:07, 4 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

1970–71 Israel State Cup

edit

Good work on creating this article, but are you sure the penalty score for the Hakoah Ramat Gan–Maccabi Tel Aviv semi-final is correct? The current text shows Hakoah having taken 5 penalties, but Maccabi only three. This can't happen under the normal system of a shoot out, as they take it in turns. If Hakoah scored all five, it means Maccabi must have taken at least one more, and possibly two. Number 57 21:50, 25 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

The procedure at the time was that one team kick its five penalties first, and then the other team tries to beat the score, and the other team stops once it cannot reach the other's score or have beaten the other's score. Therefore, in that match Hakoach kicked first and scored all its penalties, once Maccabi missed one penalty, the match is over.--Eranrabl (talk) 22:21, 25 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Very interesting! Well, that's the one thing I learnt today. What would happen if it went to sudden death - I presume then each team would take it in turns? Cheers, Number 57 22:59, 25 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
In case of sudden death, it is indeed in turns, as it is for Beitar Jerusalem-Maccabi Haifa match in the quarter finals of the same year.--Eranrabl (talk) 05:39, 26 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Deletion discussion about 2009–10 Liga Bet

edit

Hello, Eranrabl,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether 2009–10 Liga Bet should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2009–10 Liga Bet .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Israel Cup Mistake

edit

Israel State Cup seasons - the 1959-60 is missing ! Actually, the edition 1960-61 was played in 1959-60 and the edition 1960-61 was not played. [1] Can you correct it ? Thanks.--Alexiulian25 (talk) 13:19, 18 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

There's no need for correction. the State cup competitions during this period (until the mid-70s, with few exceptions) were played over two seasons. The 1958–59 season was played from 6 December 1958 (1958–59 season) to 19 November 1959 (1959–60 season). The next competition was played from 30 January 1960 to 1 February 1961, therefore it is designated as 1960–61 state cup. RSSSF, I'm afraid, is not the best of sources. I did find mistakes there. --Eranrabl (talk) 15:29, 18 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

I know there are mistakes, I have found many mistakes there also, they are made by people, so is possible to find mistakes. You can write there, Israel State Cup, with citation about this one year without trophy, because many will understand that is a mistake. Thank you.--Alexiulian25 (talk) 15:45, 18 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

I did it, now the page looks better. Can you update please here : Israeli Premier League, the all time table ?--Alexiulian25 (talk) 16:00, 18 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

But this is incorrect. The cup was held, but overran to the next season. I think the former version is better, including the explanation in the section header. The better solution would be a remark regarding this. --Eranrabl (talk) 16:12, 18 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

I wrote this : "No Cup Trophy awarded because the 1958–59 season was played from 6 December 1958 to 19 November 1959 and the next edition was played from 30 January 1960 to 1 February 1961."--Alexiulian25 (talk) 16:20, 18 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

It's a good effort, but still incorrect. The 1958–59 cup was awarded during the 1959–60 season, so it's not that no cup was awarded. It's confusing, but the season in which no cup was awarded is actually the 1957–58 season. The same goes, by the way to the entries of 1948–49 (1949–51 cup matches were held in spring 1949), 1952–53 and 1955–56 (in both the competition started during the season and was carried over to the next one). A better solution is required. The solution might be to change the tables to "list of cup finals since 1948", and adding a column of the final's date. --Eranrabl (talk) 16:44, 18 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

A colunm with the date of the final will be good, and solve this situation. True.--Alexiulian25 (talk) 18:17, 18 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Now, is just this "The 1958–59 season was played from 6 December 1958 to 19 November 1959 and the next edition was played from 30 January 1960 to 1 February 1961."--Alexiulian25 (talk) 18:23, 18 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

I added the column. It looks a bit ugly, though.--Eranrabl (talk) 19:22, 18 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

At least people can understand better, having the date of the final corresponding with the year of the edition, why if we create another column and put all the References / Footnotes there ? It might look better, everything in their column. I also find in Footnotes :

"Cite error: Invalid <*ref*> tag; name "1928final" defined multiple times with different content"

wrote big with red. Do you know how to fix it ? Thank you!

I fixed the error. The remark about the 1928 final was repeated twice in the article, instead of referring to the remark in the second instance. --Eranrabl (talk) 09:03, 19 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

What do you think about the column ? It is a good idea ?--Alexiulian25 (talk) 09:09, 19 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Israeli football updater

edit

I was going to suggest that you or Franforce might want to create it, but I see you already have, so good work! I've just made a few changes – sorting the clubs into their leagues for this season (except Liga Gimel as the listings don't appear on the IFA website yet) and making it a bit more ordered so it's easier to read. Hope that's ok? Also, seeing as the league names are so short, {{ISRLs}} isn't really needed (I've left it out of the updated version) – I only created it for England as we have some stupidly long league names that also have to be piped (the worst is [[Sheffield & Hallamshire County Senior Football League|Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior League]]!). Would you happen to know where I could access information on the football (soccer) tournaments during the 2013 Maccabiah Games? I'm struggling to find any information on the event other than the medalists. Quidster4040 (talk) 21:05, 22 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Invite to the African Destubathon

edit

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:14, 6 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Great. You may want to look at 2009 Maccabiah Games and 2013 Maccabiah Games for alternative ways to present it. That don't involve as high a percentage of a sea of red. Thanks for helping. Women's Football / Soccer Task Force News: August 2017

Should the women's football task force become WikiProject: WOSO?

According to an op-ed in the recent Signpost, some editors think task forces and subgroups are dying in 2017.

What do you think about forming our own WikiProject separate from WP:FOOTY? There's an on-going discussion of the potential pros and cons on the task force talk page. Input is welcome.

Recent developments

New initiatives have been created for:

  • FA WSL (England's top-division league)
  • NCAA (American university teams, conferences, etc.)
  • W-League (Australia's top-division league)
Ongoing tournaments
Current and upcoming seasons for top-division leagues
Did you know?

While WP:FPL lists only two women's top-division leagues as notable due to its "fully professional" criteria, did you know you can create an article on any player in any league as long as the references meet WP:GNG guidelines? Make sure to tag the new article talk page with: {{WP Women's sport|footy=yes}}.

Have some new articles in mind or see some that need improvement? Add them to the Open Tasks page if you'd like and other editors may be able to help. Need tips, assistance, or resources from other WOSO editors? Leave a message on the task force talk page.

Thank you for your continued contributions to articles related to women's football / soccer (WOSO)!

Templates

edit

Hello.

Please see WP:BIDIRECTIONAL. An article should not transclude a template unless it is linked to from the template. I may have made a mistake in deleting one of the templates from the article. If Israel is missing in the remaining templates, then either it should be added there, or the templates should be deleted from the page.

@Davidberens147: There are reports in the Israeli newspapers based on a Reuters report, which is told to carry the headline "Fui, Go Home". I haven't managed to find the original report. Based on the Israeli reports, the match was played on 8 October 1957, attendance: 5,500, Bury won 7–0, with the goals are listed to Raychip or Ritchies (it was given as either of these in the papers) (2), Reid, Everton, Parker, Etherton and Robinson. The half-time score was 5–0.

Eniola Aluko of England (in white) and Jovana Mrkić (in red) of Montenegro, 2014

Hello WOSO editors! A few initiatives have been started with an emphasis on making more WOSO links blue (similar to the work that WikiProject Women in Red does) and filling in the gaps within various league, team, and player, etc. articles.

If you're interested in collaborating with others to make more links blue, take a look at the initiatives listed in the box below. Sign up at the bottom of an initiative page and help grow the lists, add potential references, resources, and create the articles ... or create your own initiative.

Did you know ...

WP:GNG takes precedence over WP:NFOOTY (which only includes the players in 1 active women's league)? Often times there is enough media coverage that meets WP:GNG or other notability guidelines. For more information, see WP:WOSO#Notability and be sure to tag the new article talk page with: {{WP Women's sport|footy=yes}}

Current and upcoming seasons for top-division leagues

Blocked for sockpuppetry

edit

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Eranrabl (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I would like to ask the ban that was imposed on my account to be removed. I understand that somehow my account was confirmed as operating SuperJew as a sock puppet (a term I never heard before, but I learnt it now), however, I have only this account and always had only this. I use my own name (Eran Rabl) as my user name, as I take pride in my contributions and never felt the need to hide behind a moniker. Also, I mainly edit pages relating to Israeli football (my own field of interest), while SuperJew's contributions seem to go far and beyond this field and relating to subjects I know little of. Furthermore, it seem that me and SuperJew never even edited the same page Interaction Timeline (I hope the link works). Lastly, my own editing behavior is impeccable, never had an edit war or created any vandalism (to my knowledge). Thanks. --Eranrabl (talk) 18:37, 9 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
I'll also add (I was thinking if I missed anything): I don't know the two other users mentioned in [Sockpuppet investigation], nor would I have any need for them. If I wanted to make any of the changes made by these two accounts, I would have made them from my own account. --Eranrabl (talk) 18:50, 9 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

As Bbb23 says below - you do have interactions, and there is more at play than just that. It appears that there is advanced technical evidence of these accounts being linked. SQLQuery me! 23:31, 9 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I don't use the Interaction Timeline tool (I use another), but it's case sensitive, and you didn't get SuperJew's username right. Look at the timeline done correctly.--Bbb23 (talk) 19:52, 9 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
I see the mistake. However, I don't get how that shows any connection between SuperJew and me. Both of us are seasoned editors (I edit since 2008, don't know about him exactly) with similar fields. I don't get how a connection that isn't there was made.--Eranrabl (talk) 20:31, 9 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
A moment ago, you claimed you hadn't edited any of the same pages as SuperJew. I counted (manually) that both accounts edited 67 pages together, and that doesn't include deleted pages, e.g., Template:Fb team Maccabi Jerusalem. That's pretty damning behavioral evidence. And then, of course, there is the matching technical data.--Bbb23 (talk) 21:12, 9 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
I did claim that I hadn't edited based on the Interaction Timeline I found (which was wrong because I got his username wrong, since i don't (or didn't) know how to use the tool and don't even know how his username is written exactly) and based on his last edits, which are way off what I do. This thing was dropped on me out of the blue (while I haven't even edited anything for the last week...), based on evidence that I don't even see. What "advanced technical evidence of these accounts being linked" is there? I feel like I'm in the dark through the whole thing, without any clue. --Eranrabl (talk) 02:28, 10 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Can i know what the technical evidence is? I took a long look at the Interaction Timeline, and the interactions are merely coincidental, both adding to a page on different sections (examples: on 2017–18 Toto Cup Al I had 9 edits, while SuperJew had just one, in which he fixed format headers; On Football at the 2017 Maccabiah Games SuperJew had 52 edits (and was the dominant editor for the page), while this time I had just one, fixing a category' name. I can go back further and show that each and every edit on commonly edited page is not shared between SuperJew and me. Furthermore, I read the my sockpuppet investigations page, and it seem that they derive from SuperJew actions regarding A-League and W-League season, which I don't deal with (although I am a member of the Women's football task force and did some work in this field several years ago). As I said before - my Name is Eran Rabl. My username is eranrabl. I don't hide my identity and/or edit in other names. As I'm sure that any technical evidence is just a coincidence, I would ask to be shown that evidence.--Eranrabl (talk) 20:59, 10 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Some of the technical evidence is explained here. SQLQuery me! 16:46, 11 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, I've been following that conversation, but didn't see the last updates. I'll clarify first that I'm a graduate of the university, but last been there (on campus) in 2010 (when graduated).
Regarding the technical information, I do my edits in two primary locations: my own laptop at home through an ISP called "Bezeq Beinleumi" (BezeqInt) with a home network, usually using Firefox; and at work, which is in a government building in Nazareth Illit, Using IE (I think IE11, but I'm not sure right now). I don't know the external IP for my workplace. I've counted my edits since 1 April and found that approx. 80% of them were from work (which means on Sunday through Thursday, between 8am and 4pm). Might it be that SuperJew and I use the same kind of laptop, same ISP (BezeqInt) and Firefox, which would explain the similarity in device, browser and IP? --Eranrabl (talk) 18:33, 11 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
I'm sorry to bother, but is there anyway we can move onwards towards any kind of solution. I was in the middle of updating 2017–18 in Israeli football and used the time-out to complete the update offline, but I would like to upload it anytime soon. Is there anyway to convince anyone the SuperJew and I are two different persons?--Eranrabl (talk) 08:55, 13 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

--UTRSBot (talk) 12:10, 13 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Can I get a reply from anyone, preferably @Bbb23: I tried to use the UTRS, but was referred back here. I don't get clear answers to the reason I was blocked, other than "technical evidence" and "behavioral evidence" which could be anything and I cannot even begin to defend myself against. I believe I'm entitled to some answers to the questions I asked without reply in the last four days, during which I have been patient. I asked to either receive clear answers and a fair chance to refute any claims here, or rather to be blocked from my talk page so I can use the UTRS to get a second opinion on the matter. --Eranrabl (talk) 12:50, 13 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
(Non-administrator comment) I believe I'm entitled: Your beliefs are in conflict with reality.
While I had some doubts about this block, I must say that this does not help your case at all. You have to realize that you didn't lose your right to edit Wikipedia; it's the privilege that has been revoked. byteflush Talk 00:14, 14 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the comment, but that's semantics (and I didn't talk about the right to edit, but - again - semantics). I want to be able to refute the claims made against me and show that the evidence are circumstantial so I would be able to retain the privilege which was taken by mistake. However, I can't do that if I'm not told what are the evidence and if no one replies to my questions. And I am sorry if I seem to misunderstand the process, but it does seem from my end as if I was sentenced to the removal of the privilege without any alert and without any real chance to address the evidence. --Eranrabl (talk) 03:07, 14 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
If you're in Nazareth Illit and SuperJew is in Jerusalem, that puts you quite far apart. Might it be possible to somehow demonstrate that the two of you are about 150km apart at a point in time? If that could be demonstrated, it would put it beyond doubt. Jack N. Stock (talk) 03:33, 14 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
I can show using google timeline that I live in Nazareth Illit (as I do since 2008).
However, I have no way to show SuperJew's location other than his own remarks in [talk page] and on his [page] that he is a student in the Hebrew University as I have no contact with him and he's been blocked from editing his talk page.--Eranrabl (talk) 04:04, 14 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

FWIW, I have interacted with both editors on several occasions. I know they both largely edit football articles, but there is almost no crossover in their areas (Israel vs Australia). They have never !voted in the same talk page or deletion discussion, so I can't see any purpose to any sockpuppetry. I'm therefore inclined to think there is nothing in this. Number 57 12:07, 19 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, Number57. In light of his words, would it be possible to re-consider the block? I have been quiet for the meantime since I have used the referral to the Arbitrary Committee and e-mailed them and I wait for any response (while using my time for other things). However, it would be nice if the matter could be resolved. --Eranrabl (talk) 07:30, 20 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
(Non-administrator comment) Sorry, I've got to ask as a Wikipedian, but how does this not come under WP:AGF? Neither Eranrabl nor SuperJew have had much contact which has been proven and neither have been involved in any discussions, let alone being on the same side. Is this not a case of innocent until proven guilty? I'd understand if this were WP:Duck, but they're clearly not very alike at all. - J man708 (talk) 14:27, 22 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Well said. I'm very curious about that aswell. Kante4 (talk) 15:14, 22 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
I also have a problem with this as there doesn't seem to be an illegitimate reason for sockpuppetry, or any way that either editor could be seen to have gamed the system. I know SuperJew, but was completely unaware of Eranrabl. I can say that I value SuperJew highly as an editor. In my experience they have not interacted, and there doesn't seem to be any evidence they have interacted in any substantial way. Jack N. Stock (talk) 20:26, 22 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

I have to wonder: does anyone know how much time does it usually take to a request to be processed by the Arbitrary Committee? I know the process is done by volunteers, but I have sent a mail using Special:EmailUser/Arbitration_Committee back on 14 July, and didn't hear anything beside the initial receipt confirmation since. --Eranrabl (talk) 11:29, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

I noticed yesterday that my account was pinned with three more accounts that are said are my sockpuppets (Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Eranrabl/Archive). I am absolutely frustrated about that, as I took a step back to let things cool down and give my request to the Arbitration Committee its time, and never edited or created a new account in the past two months (while connecting occasionally with my account). However, as I do understand that the actions of the three new accounts are being related to SuperJew, and through him to me, I believe that severing the mistaken connection between his and my accounts will solve all problems regarding my account. I did send mails to the Arbitration Committee, but I don't see any affect and I do wonder how much time I have to wait for a response, or if I have any other means of action.
As I see that at times the Arbitration Committee place restrictions upon editors (Editing restrictions), would it be possible to negotiate with someone (probably BBb23, perhaps with the assistance of Number 57) to come to term so I would be able to return editing while restricted of whatever actions which seem necessary?--Eranrabl (talk) 07:02, 3 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
Hi Eran. I actually emailed Arbcom about this yesterday as I think this is taking far too long. I don't believe you or SuperJew are socks, and I also don't believe the IPs/SPAs making ethnicity-related edits are socks of either you or SuperJew – it looks to me like there are three separate people who are being conflated by some quirk of IP addresses in Israel. I have given some evidence to Arbcom that shows you and SuperJew are separate people and I hope this will be resolved soon as this must be incredibly frustrating. Cheers, Number 57 19:20, 3 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

A little something to add: I just entered Wikipedia and got a new message, even before connecting ([talk:109.67.43.233]). It seems that my current IP had edited a page back in 2010 and got a message (I would point out that in 2010 I was with another ISP). When a whole lot of users use the same ISP using dynamic IP allocation, basing evidence on IP isn't as accurate as it seem to be. Oh well, still waiting patiently.--Eranrabl (talk) 21:04, 22 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the note, Hhkohh. I also saw the notice made on SuperJew's talk page. Is there anyway to see the ArbCom discussion? Thanks, I will. in the meantime, I'll appeal to the common sense of BB23, as he is the one that made the connection and moved the Sockpuppet investigation from SuperJew to me, to just end the process and reinstate my account as well.--Eranrabl (talk) 11:56, 20 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Also, August SPI Hhkohh (talk) 11:59, 20 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I saw this. This is what made me lose faith in the whole thing. The investigation concludes that the rouge account belong to SuperJew, and since I'm suppose to be SuperJew (which I'm not), then it must be me. I respect SuperJew and never had any beef with him, but his actions (if those are his) are just being pinned to me. ArbCom now said that SuperJew isn't me, so his actions are his and the SPI should be re-directed to him and just leave me alone altogether. Sorry, just venting.--Eranrabl (talk) 13:51, 21 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Ages ago, twice, on 16 July and 10 August, after which I just waited patiently. Never got or found any indication that the matter was being processed.--Eranrabl (talk) 14:16, 21 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
I am very sorry sir. PMC, one of Arbcom members, told me in her talk page that their consensus is only to unblock SuperJew and the details may not be open in public Hhkohh (talk) 09:22, 22 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Hhkohh, I would like to thank you and Number 57 for all your help. As I see that there is anything I can do at the moment, I'll return to lie low and hope that sense will prevail.--Eranrabl (talk) 19:29, 22 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Just as a notice to Bbb23, who yesterday blocked two fresh accounts that were allegedly linked to mine: I have changed my ISP last month (in late October) and my current IP starts with 87.70... (I believe the means to confirm this are available). I have been away for the last month (as all my appeals seem to have failed). If any future users that would try to edit any Israel-Arab footballers as the previous had would come from Bezeq Intl (IP starting with 109...) - this is not me. I would continue to login daily in order to disassociate my self from this behavior as it doesn't belong to me. Thanks.--Eranrabl (talk) 20:44, 21 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
This is day 2 of my logins to Wikipedia through not-bezeq ISP and IP starting with 87... I'll continue to log my connections daily. Thanks.--Eranrabl (talk) 18:43, 22 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Day 3 is almost over, but I managed to login, just to remind that my IP right now is 87.70... and that I'm not working with bezeq intl. any more, just in any case the "Israeli Muslim" BLP bandits return to their bad habits. The connection between the person who insists on this category and my account should be cut. Thanks.--Eranrabl (talk) 21:12, 23 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
This is day 4 of my new ISP logins. I restarted my router today, so my IP starts with 87.71... for now. I would like to point out on this occasion that most edits done by Jumjimmed and Salimsalim2014 (who, quite obviously, are not me) were not reversed and people live in peace with them labeled as Israeli Muslims for the last week. Thanks.--Eranrabl (talk) 16:47, 24 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Hya, day 5 is here. Still with the same IP of 87.71... Nothing more to say actually. I'm still privately investigating the whole BLP thing, which is kinda silly. Just some editors thinking that certain football players should be categorized as Israeli Muslim while other not. Whole set to good and bad editors blocked and the players remains categorized since there's no one to remove the category. Really really stupid.--Eranrabl (talk) 19:36, 25 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of 1922–23 Maccabi Haifa F.C. season

edit

The article 1922–23 Maccabi Haifa F.C. season has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I fail to see how this passes WP:NSEASONS or WP:GNG for that matter.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. As I am currently blocked (wrongly), so I'll answer here, where no one hears anyway. I'll state that this article should have been the first of more, building to the more significant seasons of the club. The least is that this article should be expanded to include all Maccabi Haifa seasons up until 1931-32 season (when the club joined the league). But, I'm blocked and lost faith in the Wikipedia community, so do whatever you want. Delete them all.--Eranrabl (talk) 03:18, 9 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
If we merge, as I suggest, it can be split back into a separate article when someone does the research to expand it. I honestly don't see a good argument for deletion over merger. It passes WP:NSEASON because the history of a team that is in a WP:FPL is generally considered notable. History includes the whole series of past events connected with something, not only the recent past and not only the events when that thing was at its peak. For example, we include birth and early life of notable people, even though they were not notable as infants or as children. In the same way, the entire history of a sports team is of interest, even the years of its infancy when it had not yet achieved prominence. I don't have the resources to determine whether the season passes WP:GNG, but it doesn't need to pass WP:GNG to be a few lines in the club's article; it only needs to comply with WP:COPO, which it clearly passes.
I also get frustrated with the WP community and WP process sometimes. There are going to be issues with crowd sourcing, but I see value in the concept, and I find WP useful despite its flaws. It also has a great deal more influence that many people realize. Jack N. Stock (talk) 03:56, 9 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Sapir Kaduri

Your daily report of which IP(s) you are using is disruptive and meaningless. It is not an appropriate use of your Talk page. I have therefore revoked your access to this page.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:07, 26 November 2018 (UTC) Reply

Opening ceremony of the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup, Parc de Princes, Paris, June 7, 2019

Hello WOSO editors! What a 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France! There has been a lot of activity on tournament- and player-related Wikipedia articles with all of the worldwide coverage of the tournament and its players. Let's keep the momentum going.

Did you know...

WP:GNG takes precedence over WP:NFOOTY (which only includes the players in two currently active women's leagues)? Often times there is enough media coverage that meets WP:GNG or other notability guidelines. For more information, see WP:WOSO#Notability and be sure to tag the new article talk page with: {{WP Women's sport|footy=yes}}

Current and upcoming seasons for top-division leagues

Unblock request

edit

I apologize for not commenting earlier on my talk page, as I was still blocked until a few moments ago. I would like to thank everyone for their comments and their help. I'm following the discussion. Since I'm not familiar with the proceedings, I would gladly receive comments, questions and any help offered.--Eranrabl (talk) 16:12, 3 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

please do not use help me requests for unblock discussions. Follow WP:GAB. Praxidicae (talk) 16:23, 3 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
Hi Praxidicae, sorry for confusion I suggested the user use that tag if any relies needed to be copied to AN. Is there a better template for that purpose? –xenotalk 16:30, 3 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
xeno Ah, I figured after I read some of the history of this page. Generally help me templates shouldn't be used when it comes to unblocks (or at least that's my understanding) as it's generally geared toward editing and editing related functions. I don't know what was discussed via UTRS and I would think that most people who patrol help-me requests won't either, so I think in this case it would be better for someone who has a history of the situation to explain to them what exactly they need to do to write an appeal for ANI. I would also think and hope after the many appeals here and through UTRS they would understand better what a request should actually say.Praxidicae (talk) 16:33, 3 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Praxidicae. The appeal is at Wikipedia:Administrators noticeboard#Standard offer unblock request by User:Eranrabl. If this page is on your watchlist now, please help by copying any further relevant replies. –xenotalk 16:39, 3 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

I've been postponing writing this entry for several days now, as it seems it would be my last. As I said, I have been following my unblock discussion, which went dead after a few days.
My hoped to use this unblock request not to go through the whole block affair. I wrote the (rather weak) request as a peace offering, rather as an act of remorse or repentance. As I so it, I was the one who was wronged, and this request was my way to say "let bygones be bygones", meaning, you (the whole Wikipedia collective) would stop saying that I am a puppetmaster (which I'm not), and I am willing to forgive and forget and return editing.
Then the discussion started, and I got that this is not the case. Not only that most people don't know or get that I was wronged, most even don't get the range of feelings that I felt over the affair which went on to trigger my sleeping depression (sorry for being personal, but it is). This is the reason I finally stopped fighting it, as I was hurting myself.
I have edited Wikipedia since 2006 (although I really started going in 2013), edited more than 5,600 and created 586 new articles. I used this platform to publish my findings in my field of expertise, Israeli football, as I'm not a publishing researcher and I'm proud of my work, especially regarding women's football in Israel, which flourished after I made the information about it known. When fighting the block, I thought that this would be a good enough reason to consider unblocking me and to see through the wrong interpretation of the findings, but obviously it didn't. Or maybe it was never considered.
I never considered the block to be anything but a mistake. No malicious intent, except for whomever was busy editwarring. I tried to find whatever was against me – as far as I gathered, it was that I was on a certain ISP and was interested in Israel football – but couldn't make sense of it. Even now I don't. One day I was blocked as a sockpuppet of another user and after a while I found out – not even told directly – that I am considered the puppetmaster (I found out after discovering the Sockpuppet investigations archive, which was the other user's to start with before it was moved to my name), and that more and more accounts were added to my name.
As it is, I still deny the I ever operated any other account but my own. While I was mailing with Xeno regarding this request I asked if there is anyone to go over the technical data. I would appreciate if anyone would do that and see (and maybe even tell me) what are the evidence.
I would like to thank Number 57 on his remarks in the discussion (and the block discussion beforehand) and Xeno for his help with the request. I hope I would be allowed to edit Wikipedia again, but I have only slim hope at that, and as it is, consider it my goodbye message. Thanks to all, and I apologize if this entry is over the line for this or any other process.--Eranrabl (talk) 20:20, 10 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Sorry to hear that Eran. I think you've been treated disgracefully, but sadly it seems no-one else cares. Why people are so unwilling to look at the behavioural evidence is beyond me. Driving away a highly productive editor is utter stupidity. Number 57 20:28, 10 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
