Hello. I am doing my best to keep the page neutral. I read somewhere that there is a consensus option. How would I integrate this in the page? I you are suggesting that this page needs to be more neutral, what can I do? Please help out, I am a newbie and I am feeling a little overwhelmed. Take care. Fair use images on Wikipedia
editI know it seems frustrating, but there are a bunch of hoops that non-free images, such as File:George Andrix - String Quartet Works - Strathcona String Quartet - Cover Art.jpg, have to jump through to be acceptable here. Per WP:NFC, the use of album covers in a discography is not permitted. If a separate article were to exist regarding the particular album, then the cover would be appropriate for that article. I am not suggesting starting an article on that album. Such an article would have to meet notability concerns (see WP:NALBUMS). Rather, I'm saying that if such an image were to be used, it's only appropriate place would be on such an article, not on a discography. I've removed the cover from Josephine van Lier, and marked it as "orphaned". Per WP:NFCC, a non-free image must be used in at least one actual article or be deleted within seven days. --Hammersoft (talk) 04:00, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
- Hello. What can I say. I do not think it is frustrating. I would call it overwhelming. Well: I looked at a page Zuill Bailey and Hiromi Uehara and I liked the way the editor presented the page. You are saying that that is also not allowed? So can not not put a cover art image on Josephine van Lier page anywhere? hmmm. Please confirm. Erikvisser.art (talk) 04:17, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, absolutely. That's not allowed. I'm sorry. The gallery of those covers will need to be removed. --Hammersoft (talk) 04:19, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, ok. It feels good and bad that the other artists have to delete their images (both from Headsuprecords). It looked soooooo good. Anyway, If I can not use it in this page, and I am not making a new page, then the file will be automatically deleted? Erikvisser.art (talk) 05:01, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
- Not automatically, but it will be deleted in about a week by an administrator. --Hammersoft (talk) 21:31, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks, but who is going to delete the Gallery from Zuill Bailey and Hiromi Uehara. And for example Zuill Bailey still has an issue with the "general notability guideline" since March 2009. (Sorry for these questions, I am still a Newbie, but like to learn fast)Erikvisser.art (talk) 16:51, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, that was me. --Orange Mike | Talk 23:45, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
