Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you.

Request reason:

Insert your reason to be unblocked here Esmond Million (talk) 18:29, 19 December 2020 (UTC)

Decline reason:

You haven't indicated why you should be unblocked. Further, please understand that Wikipedia is not a means of promoting your band. We have standards for inclusion of articles about musical groups located at WP:BAND. The draft you created does not show any signs of approaching that standard, nor have you included any citations to reliable sources that might indicate a reason that we would include this article in the project. You also need to read our conflict of interest guideline. Lastly, your username implies shared use, which is not an acceptable username here. Please address these concerns in any future unblock request. Thank you, --Hammersoft (talk) 18:42, 19 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Your reason here Hi Hammersoft, Thank you for taking the time to clarify things for me and apologies for not knowing how to use wikipedia correctly, both in the writing of the page and in my first 'unblock' request which I didn't see I had to fill in. I would really like the chance to have another go at writing a page for Esmond Million. I understand what you mean about my first effort reading like an advertisement. I would keep any future content purely factual and would be happy for someone to review it before publishing. The band are as yet unsigned and only formed in November 2020, so there is no corroborative referencing available yet. I look forward to hearing from you as to whether it will be possible to try again. Thanks again for your time on this. Esmond Million (talk) 10:49, 20 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

You have not proposed a new username. You also were told that your band does not meet Wikipedia's special definition of a notable band, and you concede there are no independent reliable sources that discuss it, yet you say you will edit about it and thus continue to violate WP:COI. Wikipedia is not a place for you to tell the world about your band, that's what social media is for. As you are not heeding our advice, there are no grounds to remove the block, and as such I am declining your request. You will likely only get one more on this page. 331dot (talk) 11:53, 20 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
