Your edits

edit

I found some errors inside your edits on the Previous World Wrestling Entertainment roster. You added the release of the same superstar twice and you added a few names you added that are still under contract. I'm going to list the edits here so you see them:

  • Ricky Steamboat - is still under contract, needs to be removed so his name isn't listed twice when he is released.
  • Arn Anderson - see Ricky Steamboat
  • Dusty Rhodes - see Ricky Steamboat
  • Hulk Hogan - listed under 1993 and 2003; only need one release listed, the latest one being in 2003.
  • Davey Boy Smith - listed under 1988 and 2000; only need one; latest one being 2000.
  • Rick Rude - listed under 1990 and 1997; only need one; latest being in 1997.
  • Dustin Rhodes - listed under 1991 and 2003; only need one; latest being 2003.

This list was not intended to insult you or anything, I thought would let you know of your errors. — Moe ε 17:51, 25 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

True, to some extent. Some wrestlers were best remembered as the years they were last there, but the list is supposed to signify the last time they were employed to WWE. Also, the Gobbeldygooker and Blue Meanie WERE under contract. WWE gave them short-term contracts as they do most wrestlers, and if they "get over" with the fans they give them a contract extension, but they didn't. Pamela Anderson, Leslie Nielsen, Mohammed Ali and Cyndi Lauper never had a contract; hence they are not on the list. Thanks for the response. — Moe ε 00:03, 26 September 2005 (UTC)Reply
Pat Tanaka was released from his contract in 1992, not 1994. Even though he made an appearance. Please, if you can, go back to see if you did this with any other wrestlers. The list should tell when thier contract was terminated or expired. An example would be The Rock. He was released on December 31, 2004, but since then he has made several appearances but he would listed under 2004, not his last appearance.
Sorry you feel there is a double-standard there. I was just trying to make an EXACT AND ACCURATE list of when wrestlers were released from thier contracts. This goes back to my last statement. Pat Tanaka was released in 1992. NOT 1993 or 1994. Even though he made appearances, like The Rock, he has been released since then. The mention of the Gobbeldygooker was unnessecary. He WAS contracted for appearances but was, after that one PPV, released. He had a contract and it was terminated. Pat Tanaka's contract expired in 1992. That's when he should be listed. — Moe ε 20:36, 27 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Previous WWE Roster

edit

Hi there Essexmutant, it's Moe Epsilon. I came here to discuss the "few mistakes" on the Previous World Wrestling Entertainment roster list. Yes all of those you listed on the talk page were mistakes. Except one. George Steele, he didn't have a contract renewal in the WWE after his previous release. He only made, maybe 4 at the most, appearances with The Oddities and then was never to appear again. Thanks for finding those mistakes! — Moe ε 21:07, 13 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Poker Nicknames

edit

Do you mind if I create re-directs on your poker player nicknames form your poker player pages? - Super Mario

Re-directed most of them, some nicknames did not seem right to have a re-direct a poker player, thanks for letting me do them. - Super Mario

Okay, I re-directed the following: Tony Bloom, Garry Bush, Dave Colclough, Harry Demetriou, Peter Evans, Gary Jones, Lucy Rokach, Charalambos Xanthos, Pascal Perrault, Roy Brindley, Martin De Knijff, Layne Flack, Micheal Mizrachi, and Steve Zolotow. Give me some ideas for the others that could have a re-direct for their nickname, like John Kabbaj, Willie Tann, Simon Trumper, Bruno Fitoussi, Liam Flood, and Hoyt Corkins. Thanks. - Super Mario

This article really needs some sources, especially since the article quotes a lot of figures. I noticed that you created it. Please provide the sources. Thanx. TheRingess 09:15, 28 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

I have added external links that should cover all of this. Cheers. Essexmutant 09:40, 28 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

I award you this barnstar for your excellent contributions to poker articles on Wikipedia. File:Yemen flag large.png CTOAGN (talk) 05:09, 2 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

After seeing your name on yet another poker article's history page, I thought it was time you had a barnstar for your efforts. None of them seemed all that relevant to poker, so I've gone for the original one. File:Yemen flag large.png CTOAGN (talk) 05:09, 2 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you good sir! Essexmutant 10:39, 2 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

You seem to speak wisely on AFD. I'd be willing to nominate you for adminship if you feel you are ready for it. --kingboyk 17:13, 5 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much. I was considering nominating myself in the future, but was going to wait till it had been 6 months since my first edit. Please feel free to nominate me though. Essexmutant 17:38, 5 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
Is 6 months the norm? If so maybe best to wait and give me a shout then? --kingboyk 17:45, 5 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks mate. As per the e-mail I sent to you, we can wait till 22nd January then go for it. Cheers! Essexmutant 18:00, 5 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

The Hendon Mob

edit

Why's you remove the links for the individual players? They may eventually be notable enough to have their own pages, and then the links will have to be restored. I don't get why you would remove them. Linkspro 04:03, 7 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

My only feeling was that having the links missing made the article looked messy and incomplete because they were so high up on the page. To be honest, they should probably each be separate articles. Essexmutant 10:18, 7 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

The Barnstar of Life

edit

The Barnstar of Life may be awarded to an editor who makes particularly fine Life-related contributions; I have poker related articles on my watchlist and see how much effort you put into that area. You well and truly deserve this one. Great contributions, thanks. --Alf melmac 15:45, 11 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

No problem!

edit

Yeah I am going through some of the player articles and linking to the specific WSOP articles. You are doing very good work. Poker is big enough now that it deserves high quality articles. --Woohookitty(cat scratches) 12:38, 13 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Btw, I created a World Series of Poker category. I will work on getting all of the tourney results put into it. I am also going to make sure we have redirects for the all of the years, like "1979 World Series of Poker" redirecting to World Series of Poker, 1979. --Woohookitty(cat scratches) 14:42, 13 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
Good idea. Thanks for your help. Essexmutant 14:47, 13 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
Done! :) Tonight I will start a cat for bracelet winners. We already have one for main event winners. --Woohookitty(cat scratches) 15:29, 13 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
Are you going to categorise it as WSOP Preliminary Event Bracelet winners alone, to differentiate between that and Main Event winners, or will you do it purely as bracelet winners and make Main Event winners a subcategory? Essexmutant 15:31, 13 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
I made Main Event winners a subcat of bracelet winners. If you disagree, you can always change it. I won't object. --Woohookitty(cat scratches) 09:47, 14 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

This image may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Davidjackson_1998.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Poker WikiProject

edit

I've been thinking about setting up a poker WikiProject. You seem to do more work on poker articles than anyone: do you think we'd have enough people who'd be interested to make it worthwhile? File:Yemen flag large.png CTOAGN (talk) 14:27, 29 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'd be up for getting involved and helping you found this. I've created over 100 (probably about 150) poker articles that should really be covered by such a WikiProject. The closest there is currently is a WikiProject for Las Vegas, which only really covers the WSOP. Other people who contribute a lot include 2005 and Woohookitty. Super Mario and Alf would also be good to have on board. Anything I can do to help, please let me know. Essexmutant 16:43, 29 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Casino games

edit

I saw that you were interested in poker from you joining the LV project. I changed the format of the games in Casino game. Asas result, it seems to make ense to group the poker games together. As someone who may be more versed in poker what do you think? I suspect that when you look at that list, you will see many common casino versions are missing and meed to be added. Looking forward to seeing what changes you make, if any. Vegaswikian 19:50, 29 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I'll have a look at it tomorrow. Essexmutant 21:02, 29 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

I worked it out from the Victoria Coren article that's linked from the page. It gives his age and his birthday, and I had the date of his death so I worked it out from that.
