- If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills, try the Sandbox.
- Click on the Edit button on a page, and look at how other editors did what they did.

Costa Rica
editSqueakbox says the Costa Rica statement violates the NPOV i dont think it does because its just a statement people have made to about Costa Rica. XGustaX
- I don't want to get involved. I just saw some typos and corrected them. I know very little about Costa Rica, and so cannot comment.-Estrellador* 22:48, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
- XGustaX and I have successfully resolved the problem. Cheers, SqueakBox 23:09, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
Page name for temperature articles
editTo avoid flip-flopping between 'degree Fahrenheit' and 'Fahrenheit' or 'degree Celsius' and 'Celsius', I propose that we have a discussion on which we want. I see you have contributed on units of measurement, please express your opinion at Talk:Units of measurement. Thanks. bobblewik 23:04, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
Bayern Munich youth system
editI just nominated Bayern Munich youth system for article improvement at Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Article improvement drive.

editSPATRA nominations
editGo ahead and nominate one or two of the articles we've discussed at Wikipedia talk:Spanish Translation of the Week#New SPATRAs. Those articles are all excellent and others should select them quickly. - Draeco 23:29, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
- Sure. I have just been busy lately, but I will right now. I think I'll add Mesoamerica, as, although some of the other articles do not exist in English, the English version is just a stub, and the Spanish looks like a featured article in English, never mind Spanish (aside from the inline citations). Estrellador* 17:03, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
- OK, that sounds good. I didn't mean to rush you; I just thought you were waiting because nobody else seemed interested. - Draeco 20:19, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
Do you mind if I add all four articles I mentioned to the "Candidates for next week"? They are all worthy, and I think we should let the SPATRA community vote on them. - Draeco 17:36, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
- Sure, go ahead. :-) Estrellador* 23:30, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
Re:Featured Pictures
editThanks for your message! It's easy to make a nice picture when you are photographing something nice. :o) I wouldn't dare proposing my own picture for featured image, but oyu are welcome to do it, for the sake of the portal of course. Because of importance and looks, I like Image:Tiwanaku1.jpg, Image:Cataratas027.jpg and Image:Nazca colibri.jpg, though the only 'quality' picture of those you mention is probably Image:Easter Island cave.jpg. Take care. Mariano(t/c) 07:04, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
Featured picture promotion
editYour Featured picture candidate has been promoted Your nomination for featured picture status, Image:SantaCruz-CuevaManos-P2210651b.jpg, gained a consensus of support, and has been promoted. If you would like to nominate another image, please do so at Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates.

Portals
editThe Original Barnstar | ||
To recognize your excellent work in updating and maintaining Portal:Latin America, and updating Portal:Middle East. With the proliferation of many poorly maintained portals, it's a joy to see these portals looking so good. Please keep up the great work! --Aude (talk contribs) 17:51, 22 June 2006 (UTC) |

Portal:Latin America
editI noticed your featured articles on Latin America on the portal. Good job. I just wanted to bring to your attention a new one. Elfin-woods Warbler, a Puerto Rican bird. Take care. Joelito (talk) 17:47, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Re: Latin America Portal
editI don't see any problem with doing that. As a general rule, if you're the portal's maintainer, you can do just about anything you want, and people are unlikely to object. Kirill Lokshin 23:23, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
Guatemala Portal
editThanks for your post.Yes, I'm still interested in having the Guatemala portal but I would need some help. I didn't what person could help me out. I will take any help I can ;). Also, if you can point me out to the right place to get this portal going will be great.
Thanks a lot
From Peru Portal/Wikiproject Peru
editHello, I maintain the Portal:Peru and Wikipedia:WikiProject Peru. I don't mean to be intrusive but having seen what you've done in Portal:Latin America I was hoping that maybe you could help us out in our Portal and make it look more appealing. Would you be in anyway interested? (note that it is perfectly understandable if you are to busy with other things and don't want to).--Jersey Devil 02:35, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
Tourist dollars
editNo problemo - thanks for your response. Tourist lira would sound a bit strange, no? --Gene_poole 08:25, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
Spanish Translation of the Week: Trillo
editThe current Spanish Translation of the Week is located at Threshing-board/Translation. This week's project is to translate es:Trillo into English. You previously expressed interest in working on this translation. If you are still interested, please consider joining the translation taking place at Threshing-board/Translation. Forests of the Iberian Peninsula
editHi Estrellador, I wonder if you would be interested in an informal translation. Someone copied the Spanish Wikipedia article es:Bosques de la Península Ibérica into the English Wikipedia namespace, almost completely untranslated. It got listed at Pages needing translation into English, where I saw it. After explaining there about the article being a SPATRAnom, I moved it to Forests of the Iberian Peninsula/Translation. My Spanish is weak and rusty, though. Would you be willing to help with this? Anything you could contribute would be helpful. Thank you! --Fsotrain09 23:20, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Latin American Military Ranks
editI was recently curious about how the various military ranks correspond between the various Latin American militaries. Off the top of my head, I believe the page for Argentinian military ranks and the page for Colombian military ranks do a good job of at least comparing the ranks to the NATO rank/grade system, but it would be nice to see this for all of them and even better to have one single chart with all of them listed on it. Is anybody working on such a project or planning to? Either way, I'm willing to help out if you need it.
