editHi how can we help you? You can ask your question here and place the {{helpme}} template at the end so we know to check back.--Commander Keane 09:21, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
Hi. How do you set up a wikiproject? Thanks.

Napoleonic/Sharpe:Wikiproject
editHi your Wikiproject Napoleonic/Sharpe:Wikiproject seems to be in the wrong place, at the moment it is in mainspace, an area usually only for encyclopaedic (and related things like lists) content. It really should be page moved to a page like Wikipedia:WikiProject Napoleonic/Sharpe.--blue520 14:16, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
- I have now page moved the page from Napoleonic/Sharpe:Wikiproject to Wikipedia:WikiProject Napoleonic/Sharpe, I hope this is ok.--blue520 14:35, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
That's great, thanks Ethers 12:16, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
Hello, could you either tell me or give me a link which will show me how to make my pages a little more lively. i.e. add colour, drop down boxes etc. Thanks Ethers 17:18, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
See WP:USER. --Pilot|guy 17:44, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
Okay, nevermind. I just realised you probably weren't talking about your user page. When you get back & need an answer just reinsert the helpme tag. Sorry. --Pilot|guy 17:50, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
- Most HTML methods for colors and drop-downs function. Google if you need more details, in fact some of it is on your very page now in the form of Pilotguy's signature. For the reast, you should probably read the Manual of Style at WP:MS. -- ∞Wirelain 20:04, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

Welcome to the Military history WikiProject!
editHi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated quite regularly. You can watch it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WPMILHIST Announcements}} there.
- The project has a monthly newsletter; it will normally be delivered as a link, but several other formats are available.
There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Starting some new articles? Our article structure guidelines outline some things to include.
- Interested in working on a more complete article? The military history peer review and collaboration departments would welcome your help!
- Interested in a particular area of military history? We have a number of task forces that focus on specific nations or periods.
- Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every military history article in Wikipedia.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the project coordinators, or any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Kirill Lokshin 12:22, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
Re: Battle of Nivell
editSit back and admire your excellent work? ;-)
(There really isn't much to do. Once the article is written, most people just leave it there indefinitely.) Kirill Lokshin 18:26, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

No particular interest in Napoleon
editBy the way, my edits were linked to the fact that handling such a project may require a few images as an article improvement.
First I knew the French article fr:Légende napoléonienne whose interwiki is Napoleon in popular culture. The french one deals with the fact that Napoleon era turned to be an iconic religious-like symbol of hegemony of France over the rest of Europe. Such a legend with all glory & lies continues nowadays amons national followers or people who are interested in French history.
Notice that Napoleon in popular culture does'nt deal with that ; lest a bit less, I guess. At last I find Wikipedia:WikiProject Napoleonic Fiction and hardly misunderstood it could deal with a project about the Legend of Napoleon (refer the painting). As a matter of fact it doesn't, since the focus is the articles about modern fictions (books, movies, video games) with the napoleonic wars as a setting (correct me if I continue confusing).
Hence my short edits & this translation of the painting quote. Yet, that's all folks ! Not interested to join, sorry...
- So if you like the pic+translation, feel free to insert it in an article (or the Project main page, despite it would add confusion about the topic, as I said before) and let me know ! <just added to gallic rooster>.
Yours,
--Lilliputian 10:01, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
P.S. : Anyway, I'd like to start a prussian militarism stub + enhancement later on, as a particular form of militarism, mainly focused on 19th century, but starting with Teutonic state as its roots. do you know people who could add knowledge to that ?

I edited your "About" page
editHi. I just edited User:Ethers/Dropdown/About to link directly to Richard Sharpe (fictional character), instead of to Richard Sharpe. I hope you don't mind. (I've just started reading the books. Good stuff!) Cheers, CWC(talk) 02:34, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Re: Task Forces
editProbably not; the project as a whole has carefully avoided getting involved in any fictional topics (both because they require an entirely different article-writing approach and because they would get us entangled in a number of messy disputes that we've so far managed to avoid), so I don't think that it would be appropriate to pull fiction into task forces either.
