Concern about recent upload

edit

Hi EugeSur 14. I noticed you uploaded this image under the claim of own work. Since it appears that the image is an album cover released by Universal Studios, that doesn't exactly seem to match with the reasons given. You are allowed to upload album covers, however only under the rules of WP:FAIR USE. » \ / ( | ) 08:12, 20 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have also tagged Jay-R with a NPOV tag. Basically, a NPOV tag means that there are some issues about whether the article is following Wikipedia's policy on maintaining a neutral point of view. All articles must be written in neither support nor against a particular subject. If you need any help on this, I'd be happy to assist. » \ / ( | ) 08:16, 20 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi EugeSer 14, You need to treat your uploads differently. I'm in the process of deleting them as they don't meet many of Wikipedia's policies, but invite you to re-upload correctly. All copyright images that do not belong to you (as is the case with your uploads) that are taken from websites, must meet the non-free content criteria prior to upload. Please review File:MariahCarey-MCcover.jpg as an example of what you need to know and what justification we require for hosting copyrighted images as fair use - Peripitus (Talk) 08:49, 20 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for I have blocked you after seeing no response to messages about copyright and also the record on commons where you were recently blocked for the same thing. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously and you cannot claim as yours, images that are clearly taken from websites or scans/photos of other's work. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Peripitus (Talk) 09:05, 20 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sigh....EugeSer 14. You haven't reacted to being blocked before and have kept on uploading copyright images, screen shots and other things claiming them as yours. I have blocked you for 48 hours this time and if you keep uploading copyrighted images, and claiming them as yours, the next block may be indefinite. Just because you took a screen capture, or scanned a magazine or used photoshop on an image does not make it yours. Whoever created the film, or took the photo in the first place owns the image/films copyright. That means that they, not you, has the right to create copies. I do suggest, if you wish to continue editing here, that you read about Free content, derivative work and, if you do not understand the difference, please drop a line here or on my talk page before uploading again. - Peripitus (Talk) 12:59, 21 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Why did my uploads get deleted? The are legally mine. I scanned them from my own albums and magazines and they are the right covers in my edit... Why are they invalid?

Decline reason:

It seems highly unlikely to me that album covers are yours to upload. Please note that if you scan such a cover, all the rights belong to the artist who drew iot, and not to you. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 15:40, 21 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Speedy deletion of Jay R (Jay R album)

edit

A tag has been placed on Jay R (Jay R album) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Quantumobserver (talk) 04:30, 26 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of Nina awards and recognition

edit

I have nominated Nina awards and recognition, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nina awards and recognition. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Orphaned non-free media (File:Nina - Foolish Heart Music Video.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Nina - Foolish Heart Music Video.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:16, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Nina - A Girl Can Dream Music Video.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Nina - A Girl Can Dream Music Video.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 23:03, 27 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Editing Style

edit

Hello, Please can i ask that in the interest of courtesy and for ease of understanding when making edits like you have done to Fantasy Ride can you provide an WP:edit summary. this helps other editors identify what changes have been made to articles. I know myself that sometimes i forget to do so, but it does make things easier for other users if you can provide a brief summary of the additions/deletions or changes you have made to an article. Odyssey Album charts

edit

The problem with the Odyssey Album Chart isn't that your edits were unsourced, it's that Odyssey is only one retailer. WP:Record charts excludes any single retailer charts: that's why Amazon, iTunes, Wal-Mart, and other stores don't have their charts listed. Unfortunately, right now, I don't know of any good Filipino charts. If you can find one that isn't listed on WP:BADCHARTS, let me know, and we can talk about whether it can be included.—Kww(talk) 01:16, 15 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Nina discography. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. You have been previously told about this. Do not add the Odyssey Albums Chart, or any other chart listed at WP:BADCHARTS, to any Wikipedia articles.—Kww(talk) 16:38, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Nina discography, you will be blocked from editing. You must stop adding charts listed at WP:BADCHARTS, like the Philippines Singles Chart, to Wikipedia articles.—Kww(talk) 01:28, 26 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits, such as those you made to Nina Girado. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, you will be blocked from editing. I will expand, so that there is no doubt that you have been adequately warned. You cannot make references to charts listed on WP:BADCHARTS in articles. This includes the Odyssey Albums Chart, the Phillipines Singles Chart, and all of the MYX charts. Should you do so again, you will be blocked from editing.—Kww(talk) 14:23, 9 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I don't understand your removal of the image from this article, since you didn't give a reason. There are no issues with it, since it's a free image hosted on Commons. Unless you have a better image, free of copyright, it should stay. Rodhullandemu 14:55, 18 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

The image is insulting to the artist because it's a stolen capture that shows her terrible facial expression.

edit

You are adding material to Nina Girado that is apparently copied from [1].

Material on the Web is copyrighted, unless it says it is NOT.

That means it cannot be copied to Wikipedia.

Please explain what you imagine the situation is. (Or undo your edit.) If you don't, you will be blocked, this time for a longer period, perhaps indefinitely. Thanks, Piano non troppo (talk) 00:22, 9 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

And for adding the same copyright violation I have blocked you indefinitely. Garion96 (talk) 17:29, 11 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Garion96, Please unblock me, I promise to follow the rules this time. I just need to construct the new page for Nina Girado's new album Renditions of the Soul.

Nina Girado

edit

My edits are referenced and the sections "Childhood and youth", "Early music career", "Voice", "Notable achievements", "Concerts" and "Personal life" were not copied. I stated it on my own and referenced it to prove that it's true. Please bring back the sections that I did not copy.

Editing history looks

edit

Hi, I'm not sure if you are aware, but you might want to take a look at the editing history of Nina Girado, and see what effect your edits have. [2]. On my screen, with 50 edits showing, most of them just have your name, and no edit information. Lil-unique1 mentioned above that you need to provide an edit summary as a courtesy to others. Also, can you please make several edits at once, using the "Show preview" button below the edit summary. I don't know if you realize, but when other editors use reports to evaluate what you do, they can see that you never explain your edits. You've been blocked before, and this kind of behavior doesn't work in your favor in the future, if you get into a dispute (and sooner or later that happens to every editor). So, please make fewer edits, all at once, and give at least some explanation of what you intended to do. Thanks! Piano non troppo (talk) 02:51, 7 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:41RuMBdabnL. SS400 .jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:41RuMBdabnL. SS400 .jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 01:20, 9 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

The file File:Nina - I Don't Want To Be Your Friend Music Video.jpg has been proposed for deletion. The proposed deletion notice added to the file should explain why.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 7 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
