Speedy deletion nomination of RS Sailing

A tag has been placed on RS Sailing, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Articles

Hi! Just as a quick heads-up. If you want to create an article on the above dinghy classes, you'll need to get past two hurdles. The first is that of speedy deletion. Articles are quickly deleted if they don't have any content or, in some cases, make no claim of importance. In this case, the three articles you created consisted of just a navbox - you'll need to add a description of the class, and perhaps a reference or two, when you create them. After that, the second hurdle is to show why the articles meet Wikipedia's inclusion standards. That's a bit harder, but you probably won't have a lot of trouble with sailing classes, as they key thing here is to show that the subject has had non-trivial coverage in multiple independent reliable sources. I mention that it probably won't be too hard, as if there are published reviews of the boats, you may find that this is enough to show that they meet the requirements - although you'll need to add the reviews as references in the article. You may end up having more trouble with RS Sailing, although hopefully there's the right sort of coverage to cover the requirements there as well. Good luck with it - I like seeing boats covered on Wikipedia, so hopefully the right material is available. - Bilby (talk) 12:22, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

Getting started creating new articles on Wikipedia can be tricky, and you might like to try creating a draft version first, which you can then ask for feedback on if necessary, without the risk of speedy deletion. Orphaned non-free media (File:Rssailinglogo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Rssailinglogo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box.
