editthen I sincerely apologize if you felt insulted in any way by my placing the tags on your article. I was only trying to point out that writing an article on yourself, while not expressly forbidden, is generally not encouraged because of the "close ties", if that makes sense. - No worries, I know you're just doing your job. EvanBlass (talk) 02:23, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
Verification
editI know we discussed this on IRC, but would you mind if you tweet out something about your article on Wikipedia, just for verification that this is not an imposter? Tweeting something like "I am EvanBlass on wikipedia, link:(link to userpage)" would probably be the best verification but it'd probably be very confusing. Cheers and Thanks, L235-Talk Ping when replying 22:35, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
- Not to mention that the first link everyone would click would be to my article submission history ;) EvanBlass (talk) 02:29, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
Adoption
editHi. It's been a while, and I was wondering if you wanted to continue with the adoption. Cheers. Good work on your article, after a bit I might nominate it for WP:GA. ;) Cheers, Thanks, L235-Talk Ping when replying 20:54, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
A kitten for you and your adoptee!

Welcome!
editHello, EvanBlass, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Evan Blass, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms our use and policy on paid editing.

- Hi there. So, a couple of things about this article.
- - First, you're correct in assuming that this began its life as an unintentional COI submission with the rationale being, hey, who knows the topic better than myself?
- - However, I took great care to ensure that the article was written from a neutral POV, and contained a plethora of citations. Furthermore, before submitting it for publication, I brought it to a Wikipedia IRC help room, where I enlisted the assistance of numerous editors to proofread and sign off on it.
- - What's more, as the edit history will show, several users -- including one in particular who took a very serious interest in the content -- made multiple changes to the text post-publication, in a manner most generously characterized as a devil's advocate approach. In other words, the article has seen heavy editing by parties who took great pains to diminish the importance and notability of the subject.
- - At this point, with so much input on the article post-creation, do you still think it lacks a neutral POV? It's not a completely distinct article from the original submission, but it is quite different in many significant ways.
