editHow do I upload a picture and embed it into an article? thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Evaunit511 (talk • contribs)
You'll see on the sidebar a link to "Upload file". Click on that and follow the instructions on the page. Hope that helps! - Mike 21:44, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
RE:Help
editNo problem. Feel free to ask me if you have anymore questions. A minor note - when you add to a talk page it's usual practice to add new discussions to the bottom of the page, rather than the top (Don't worry, I did the same exact thing when I started out :-). An easy way to do this is to click on the "+" next to "edit this page on a talk page. It would be just like writing an e-mail. Just fill ina subject line, and type your message in the field below, and click "save page". It will automatically add your new topic to the bottom, and create an automatic edit summary. - Mike 22:40, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
Image tagging for Image:ODISAgencyList.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:ODISAgencyList.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 10:08, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Hello, I was browsing WikiPedia and noticed that you are/were a firefighter. I highly encourage you to stop by and check out our WikiProject relating to the Fire Service around the world. We are in need of many editors and administrators to help the cause. Stay safe, Daysleeper47 19:02, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Trunking articles
editI was doing some looking into trunking radio, and just noticed that you had started most (all?) of the SmartNet-themed articles. I just wanted to stop in and thank you for contributing such great information! Fogster 21:34, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
Re:OA Information
editI don't recall posting any names that shouldn't be posted. Source please? - Brandon Rhea (talk) 22:07, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Another editor has added the {{prod}}
template to the article Control Channel, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}}
template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 07:00, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

The file File:G27.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Unused, unclear use/purpose
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Zinclithium (talk) 20:52, 4 April 2018 (UTC)

Image source problem with File:ODIS.JPG
editThank you for uploading File:ODIS.JPG.
This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.
While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.
If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F4 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:46, 10 January 2024 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --TheImaCow (talk) 20:46, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
