Queer Baiting
editI'm speaking with a admin about this issue. I'm waiting for a reply. Whatever happens, happens. I don't believe Supernatural should be on this page because the writers, cast, etc have said that Dean is not going to be bi and that Dean and Castiel are not going to get together. While the other shows on this page did keep the possible queer relationships alive. The sources you linked up are opinions. Then again this is my opinion. Sorry I love this show, I don't want it to be accused of something that is horrible and I don't believe is doing it. I shouldn't bother to try to start this because none of us are going to change out minds and views but I can't resist as always lol. I welcome your citing sources on that! The fact is they have also said "anything can happen," "wait and see," "it's not already canon?," used countless romantic tropes within the show to frame the two characters, and discussed the possibility of love in all places. I realize that it is difficult to see criticism about something that you are a fan of--I also love Supernatural! But this is the most discussed instance of queer baiting in current media, and the entry (which I did NOT write, merely sourced once it was contested) belongs within the article, because snipping out that one show and fandom, as opposed to addressing the subject matter overall, shows lack of objectivity. The sources I linked are news sites. Not personal blogs. And there are many more. You disagree, and that is entirely fine, but ripping pages out of history book because they paint someone you see as a personal hero doesn't work, either, and is vandalism. Putting Supernatural on this page is also an opinion and could be vandalism as well. Anyone can edit wikipedia (put false information). The sources you linked up are from news sites but that doesn't change anything, it's still their opinions, not the truth. Yes I disagree and and will always disagree just as you disagree and will always disagree and that is completely fine. I think we can agree on one thing, we will never change our views in this broken fandom. "anything can happen" and "wait and see" can be interpreted as anything. As in "wait and see what stories we have" Yes that tweet did came out after 9x03 but it doesn't mean he was talking about Dean and Cas getting together after Cas had sex with April. Or maybe that tweet was from Erica Carroll, I forget. "it's not already canon?," was a joke from Robbie Thomson. That could be offensive but people need to learn how to take things lightheartedly. People get offended by everything these days. I criticize the show, trust me I do, just not on this issue because I don't think it's doing it. Your first sentences are what I've been hearing for years, I still disagree, just as you are going to disagree about the sources I'm going to tell you right now lol. First the show itself, mostly these past two seasons the show has been re establishing the characters (Dean and Castiel) as straight. Dean and Suzy, Castiel and April, Dean and Cas talking about how hot April was, Dean and Sam proud about Cas having sex with April, Dean flirting with that older woman in 9x16 or 9x17, Dean and Ann Marie, Cas and Hannah, etc. Second, Eric Kripke's vision was to show you that straight guys can connect emotionally (Dean and Sam, Dean and Cas, Sam and Cas) because apparently guys don't do that. Thirdly, guy norman bee said that it doesn't exist and that one guy I don't know if he was a producer but he checks the scripts said that they never intended the characters to be be Bi. Jensen said that "there isn't anything secret, even though some of you wish there were, and Misha and I don't play it that way" and Jared said "we didn't want to hint at anything and that it would ruin the show" and Jensen and Misha described Dean and Cas's relationship as a brotherhood. I Know you guys ignore and excuse what they say because they're not PTB but they been on this show for 10 years, they do have a say and it's been said that PTB, Cast and Crew are a family and they tend to agree with each other. Lastly the 200th showed that we have our version and they have theirs. Dean gave that look of disgust about destiel when he broke the 4th wall and apparently it was all Jensen, also he did say it was his number one reservation about the episode this recent con. I know you guys interpret that look as something else though, but that's okay I guess. They're not queer baiting, they're trying to tell you the things you want are not going to happen and hopefully you can see that. I have no problem linking all these points to you but I'm sure you know all of this happened. Now you're probably going to counter all of this but can we just stop it at agree to disagree because we're going to end up doing that anyway and I'm sure you going to say something what i've been hearing for years just as what I just said above is probably what you've been hearing for years and I want to save us both our time. I'm sorry we're all rude to each other and hopefully when the show ends, we can be the family we say we are. 172.251.239.154 (talk) 23:29, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
How is including a dozen sources and a relatively neutral short reference vandalism? You DISAGREE with it, that is entirely different, and as I said you're welcome to disagree with anything you wish. I disagree with all manner of things on Wikipedia, given Wikipedia covers a world of topics including politics and religion and outmoded practices. However, I would suggest you argue these point with the sources given: I think you'll find that what you're saying in no way shape or form actually addresses the show's queer baiting, though. I've no intention of having an argument with you on the comments of a Wikipedia page, though, and will continue to roll back disruptive editing. Exorcisingemily (talk) 15:33, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
Okay then agree to disagree. I have no intention of having an argument also because there's no point. Take care. (Not sarcasm) (172.251.239.154) 172.251.239.154 (talk) 06:14, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
