Speedy deletion nomination of User:Eyo Trav

I would like to contest the speedy deletion of the Eyo Trav page. While it may currently lack sources or in-depth information, Eyo Trav is a notable figure in the Cameroonian music industry who deserves to have a Wikipedia presence. As described in the page, Eyo Trav (real name Ngeh Travor Ngwang) has produced over 8 albums and collaborated with many up-and-coming Nigerian artists. He owns a successful internet cafe business and mentors young musicians. Within Cameroon, he has achieved reco

  I would like to contest the speedy deletion of the Eyo Trav page. While it may currently lack sources or in-depth information, Eyo Trav is a notable figure in the Cameroonian music industry who deserves to have a Wikipedia presence. 

As described in the page, Eyo Trav (real name Ngeh Travor Ngwang) has produced over 8 albums and collaborated with many up-and-coming Nigerian artists. He owns a successful internet cafe business and mentors young musicians. Within Cameroon, he has achieved recognition and success through his work as a producer, entrepreneur and champion of new talent.

  I understand the page currently lacks citations and could be expanded with more details. However, deleting it entirely would remove an opportunity to build a article documenting the career and contributions of someone making an impact in their country's music and arts community. 
  Rather than a speedy deletion, I ask that the page be kept with an "article for creation" template to allow time for additional sources to be added in support of Eyo Trav's notability within his field and geographical context. Deleting the page prematurely risks losing information about a figure who deserves recognition on Wikipedia. Please reconsider the speedy deletion and give the page a chance to be filled out properly.

"While it may currently lack sources or in-depth information" is enough right there to reject this content outright. If content cannot be verified with citations to reliable sources, then it cannot exist on Wikipedia; this is non-negotiable. It does not matter what a user knows or believe to be true - we care only about what can be verified. Without significant mention in reliable sources, we cannot assume this person is notable enough for inclusion. Writing about yourself

You are welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, but it is not a social media site for people to write about themselves. It is a quite different sort of site, a project to build an encyclopedia, so it is selective about subjects for articles. Writing about oneself is strongly discouraged, for reasons explained at Wikipedia is not about YOU and Wikipedia:Autobiography.

Wikipedia user pages are not like those at social media sites. Their use is explained at WP:NOTWEBHOST:

"Wikipedians have individual user pages, but they should be used primarily to present information relevant to work on the encyclopedia. Limited autobiographical information is allowed, but user pages do not serve as personal webpages, blogs, or repositories for large amounts of material irrelevant to collaborating on Wikipedia. If you want to post your résumé or make a personal webpage, please use one of the many free providers on the Internet or any hosting included with your Internet service provider. The focus of user pages should not be social networking or amusement, but rather providing a foundation for effective collaboration. Humorous pages that refer to Wikipedia in some way may be created in an appropriate namespace. Personal web pages are often speedily deleted under criterion U5. Wikipedia articles use formal English and are not written in Internet posting style."
