So for those that remember I used to cause a lot of disruption during 2009-2014, which I addressed here. I don't want to be that kind of a person anymore, I haven't wanted to for a long time, hence why I wanted to start afresh with Zeke Essiestudy. And, I was genuinely enjoying my time on that account. Being actually productive... Far more than I would've enjoyed keeping vandalizing or disrupting Wikipedia. Unfortunately, after I confessed to the Administrator's noticeboard out of guilt, that account was immediately hardblocked. Now it's almost been three years since I last edited this place. I still want to come back, I don't want to be known as a "disruptive sockmaster" forever. I do not intend to continue any of the childish behavior that got me blocked so many times, I'm too old for that.
I will say, I'd prefer to keep editing as Zeke Essiestudy, but if I can only be unblocked on this account, that's fine. Ezekiel! Talk to meh.See what I'm doin'. 23:31, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
Oh, also I don't remember the passwords for most (if any at all) of my 2009 accounts (here and here). Ezekiel53746's the earliest one I got. Ezekiel! Talk to meh.See what I'm doin'. 23:38, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
- I check this page daily, if there's any questions I've left unanswered, let me know and I'll try to address them to the best of my ability. Ezekiel! Talk to meh.See what I'm doin'. 17:36, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
- So you are the same person as @Zeke Essiestudy:? I'm also going to ping @Bradv and TonyBallioni: as they made advice on that talk page that seems applicable here. If your original main account was globally locked, then you will need to appeal at meta or, perhaps more suitably given the complexity, appeal by email at stewards(at)wikimedia(dot)org [obviously replacing with "@" and "."] Once you've done that you'll then need to come back here and appeal again. Nosebagbear (talk) 00:57, 27 July 2021 (UTC)
- Your global lock was already successfully appealed back in 2019, per this request. However, since you are effectively banned on the English Wikipedia per the three strikes rule, you still need to appeal your ban to the community at WP:AN. I am willing to start that conversation on your behalf – would you like me to use the text of your unblock request as the appeal? – bradv🍁 01:41, 27 July 2021 (UTC)
- Oh dear...
- The three strike rule is new to me, but I guess it makes sense. I might as well have been banned for all of my trouble during 2009-2014. ^^; Very well then, here's a few more potential questions I will answer.
- If we want to be technical, my earliest blocked account is User:Boingerbox. However, as I said, I don't know the password for it, and I wouldn't want to inconvenience the stewards to unlock an account that I still wouldn't be able to log into. I can, however, log into User:Sunny Chan 564. As I said, I'd want to continue editing as Zeke Essiestudy, but I'll let the community decide which account I should use from now on (should I be unbanned).
- About Pickbothmanlol... nope, I'm not that person. I'm certainly a former long-term sock master... These two lists (plus Alex2564 and Zeke Essiestudy, obviously) are all of the accounts I've used on Wikipedia. And yes, it's a lot of accounts, and most of them were used to disrupt Wikipedia, and I wish I had grown a conscience sooner. But anyway, that's it. The SPI page where most of my 2009 socks were blocked even said that the IPs were different from the ones Pickbothmanlol actually used. So the sockmaster for all of these accounts should be considered Boingerbox or Parappa664, not Pickbothmanlol.
- No, I have not edited Wikipedia since Zeke Essiestudy was blocked. There was a reason why I admitted that account was me in the first place, I want to get my block actually addressed and (hopefully) lifted instead of just continuously running away from it. I acknowledge that my behavior from 2009-2014 was utterly unacceptable in every way, including vandalizing for shits and giggles, refusing to listen to other people's advice, grave dancing on blocked people's talk pages, insisting on using crude homemade variants of the user warning templates... I never want to be like that again. I don't want to be known as a long-term disruptive editor forever. I want to move on. It may be a sock account, but I hope my edits on Zeke Essiestudy can prove this.
- For those wondering what I want to edit, usually it's stuff that interest me, like games or shows. I guess you could say I like editing entertainment articles. Like, if I can, I want to help out with the article for the upcoming sequel of Oxenfree, or the upcoming new game for Super Monkey Ball (Banana Mania). Also, during my time as Zeke Essiestudy (and even Alex2564), I've found that I am the best at maintenance work. Like patrolling for new pages or recent changes and trying to fix up little errors in the articles. Sometimes, I'd see a page on the new page feed, and then while fixing it up, I'd discover I'm actually interested in the topic of the article and start actually contributing to it, with sources and everything.
- I hope this addresses most (if not all) potential concerns. So yes, I'd appreciate if a ban appeal at the administrator's noticeboard was started, referring to all of the information I posted. Thank you for the offer BradV, and thank you Nosebagbear for responding. :) Ezekiel! Talk to meh.See what I'm doin'. 06:23, 27 July 2021 (UTC)
So about Abhishek0831996's oppose vote (I'm not sure if I should ping them)... I'm honestly not sure what you want from me. I did my part, I willingly let my latest account get blocked in September 2018, didn't edit for nearly three years since, got my main account unlocked on Meta... and now I'm here. Are there steps I missed? Are there problems I still haven't addressed? If so, I need to know what they are so I can address them. Because otherwise, I sincerely believe I've done all I can to get an appeal for my block going, and all I can do now is wish is that the community hears me out. Ezekiel! - In the firmest possible terms I can give, I would advise you not to respond to individual !votes unless they specifically ask you a question. Some editors may be against unblocking anyone with the scale of socking history that you have - that's just one of those things that can happen. But while I know it would be great to know what any given individual would accept as sufficient evidence of reform, much like with admin candidates at RfA, blow-by-blow reactions to opposes get viewed as bludgeoning and actually are counter to a successful request. Stay calm, let it sit. If you get more in a similar vein, then a general follow-up may be suited, otherwise, check back in once or twice a day but don't stew watching. - My apologies. I remember Tony having a similar stance when I first tried getting this account unlocked in 2018 and it left me feeling confused and without a path to go forward. In the future, I'll only respond if one of the !votes asks me a question directly (it would probably be better for the questions to go here though). Ezekiel!
