Hi Falconik123. I have reverted your addition of a duplicate section repeating your question at the Teahouse. You said that you weren't sure if your follow-up question was public. Everything posted on Wikipedia is public; if you can see it, then everyone else can. Cordless Larry (talk) 21:43, 23 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Oh, sorry! Thank you for clearing this up. :) --Falconik123 (talk) 21:45, 23 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:15, 26 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:Digital Cybercherries Facebook page logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:16, 26 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2020 in video games, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Action (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:41, 29 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

Hello, Falconik123. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Joe Henson (video game designer), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 20:50, 12 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello!
Thank you for your message. I want to make it clear that I have no personal or professional connection with Joe Henson, the video game designer. My interest in creating the article comes purely from being a fan of his video games. I thought sharing information about him would be useful for others who enjoy his work as much as I do.
I was not aware that my contributions could be seen as a conflict of interest, and I apologize if it seemed that way. I appreciate you bringing this to my attention.
Could you please advise me on what steps I should take next?
Again, thank you, and for your guidance and understanding - I do appreciate mentioning it to me. Falconik123 (talk) 21:33, 12 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
I mostly got that impression because the article's wording feels promotional in parts. Stuff like "he led a successful marketing campaign" is neither here nor there as far as Wikipedia is concerned, and feels like a resume. Generally, a typical reader would only be concerned that he worked as a marketer rather than whether he was successful.
I'd also think hard about whether the page passes WP:NPERSON. Both the bio pages you have made so far appear to have serious notability concerns - note that interviews are not a secondary source, and notability is not inherited from games one may have developed. If one was a major creator of numerous notable games, they may fall under WP:NARTIST, but being the designer of a game otherwise made by a larger studio doesn't fall under that criteria. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 21:55, 12 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Noted. Thank you for taking the time to provide all your feedback! Falconik123 (talk) 22:19, 12 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
