A tag has been placed on Bodac requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. AngelOfSadness talk 22:40, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
- First thing you shouldn't write about things that you are connected to as it presents a conflict of interest. Secondly Wikipedia is not an advertising service so using Wikipedia to promote a non-notable band doen't go down well. Thirdly, I deleted the article because it did not assert the importance or significance of the band therefore, given the article's then-state, it was deleted under the speedy deletion critera. ok so can u help me compose the page then please because im brand new to this and this is wicked hard codeing lol Famt13 (talk)
- No: conflict of interest(on wikipedia) is when someone creates a Wikipedia article on a subject which they are close/connected to like a band/company/family relation and other editors disagree with the article's existance (as in the article does not comply with Wikipedia policies and guidelines). Anyway, first I have to ask if the band (not the article) has achieved any of the critera of WP:MUSIC#Criteria_for_musicians_and_ensembles before any article creation can commence. Also if you have any third-party sources that are independant of the subject to back up the claims that would be great. AngelOfSadness talk 21:20, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
