Edit warring notice

edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Chinese American Museum DC. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Adakiko (talk) 18:45, 18 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

I am the only one engaging on the talk discussion.
The reversions were first by IPs and then accounts linked to the subject article.
I recommend reverting and freezing on the version "https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Chinese_American_Museum_DC&oldid=1223588071".
This was the last stable version and restored by four other Wikipedia users User:Joyous!, User:C.Fred, User:TornadoLGS, User:CanonNi who also identified IP vandalism, followed by other users doing the same. FarEasternMarket (talk) 18:51, 18 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Maybe nitpicking, but the edits I reverted were promotional, not vandalism. Either way they are inappropriate and I think page protection may be warranted. TornadoLGS (talk) 19:15, 18 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Pardon me for assuming intent then.
I submitted a protection request.
My recommendation is the version above which four others, not including myself reverted to, and when the IP and then other accounts began very selective reversions and then outright vandalism. FarEasternMarket (talk) 19:18, 18 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
I was actually going to submit a request myself but I saw it was already listed. TornadoLGS (talk) 19:19, 18 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
That was my protection request and recommendation to revert to the version "1223588071"
This was the version you and the three others reverted the original IP vandalism.
Anything afterward in my judgement is suspect.
One recommendation was very eraly single/self sourced by the subject article, and if it is going to go back that far, it probably shouldn't be an article.
Again no other assumptions made on you or the other's intent" other than this is when the anonymous IP changes began, and then copied by other accounts. FarEasternMarket (talk) 19:31, 18 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Actually, even before that was a request by Mazewaxie. TornadoLGS (talk) 20:08, 18 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing from certain pages (Chinese American Museum DC) for a period of 3 months for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Drmies (talk) 01:21, 19 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
