Your Question
editHi Rory. I provided a general welcome above, but I wanted also to say a more personal 'hello' in response to your post on my talk page. We, at Wikipedia, would be very pleased if you would stick around and help us with our business articles (and anything else you would like to edit).
However, you don't need to be an administrator to do that. The great thing about Wikipedia, is that anyone can edit (pretty much) anything. In addition to editing, administrators mainly do janitorial tasks, but they have no addition authority over anyone else when it comes down the the business of building the encyclopaedia. So, if you wish to get started, the best thing you can do is read some of the pages I provided links to above. The Adopt-a-User programme is another excellent way to learn the ropes. Normally I would be happy to adopt you officially myself, but I currently have 4 adoptees - which is my self imposed limit. I'm sorry about that, but of course, i'd still be happy to answer any questions you have as best I can (as will most fellow WIkipedians). However, there are plenty of excellent experienced editors who would be pleased to adopt you officially. You can choose one from the list here and learn more about the adoption process here. Finally, let we welcome you once again and wish you a happy time here on Wikipedia! Rockpocket 06:02, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome your help to create new content, but your recent additions (such as TURS) are considered nonsense. Please refrain from creating nonsense articles. If you want to test things out, edit the sandbox instead. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
