Hello, I'm Peaceray. I noticed that you recently removed content from Standard Moroccan Berber without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Sorry, but it is a standard language. No one speaks it natively. And the reference you are using is about all Berber languages' speakers. Fenakhay (talk) 11:38, 1 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Standard Moroccan Berber, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. The national language of Egypt…

edit

…is Egyptian Arabic. Almost nobody says “junayh misri” in Egypt, and even in the formal speeches, the J sound is never used, but rather “gunayh misri” is used in these cases. But in everyday life, 99.9% of the time, the Egyptian Arabic “geneih” is what we Egyptians call our currency. If you look at the Egypt Wikipedia article, it’s mentioned that Egyptian Arabic (“Masri”/“Egyptian”) is the national language of Egypt, similar to darija in Morocco. Thanks :) MatthewS. (talk) 10:51, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

You clearly have some nationalistic fantasy :). The OFFICIAL language of Egypt is Arabic and not Egyptian Arabic. Please don't confuse reality with your fantasy. Fenakhay (talk) 13:06, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

The most widely spoken language is Egyptian Arabic. MatthewS. (talk) 16:26, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Even your very own Moroccan dirham page uses the local pronunciation “darham”. Why don’t you go change that instead? Or is nationalism only allowed in Morocco? MatthewS. (talk) 16:33, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Also, according to WP:COMMONNAME we are supposed to use most commonly used words, not necessarily “official” ones, as you can see in my talk page regarding the official name of Turkey. So since the common name of the Egyptian pound is the one in the Egyptian pronunciation, this takes precedence. MatthewS. (talk) 16:43, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
