Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Steel pier.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Steel pier.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:03, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

Welcome back

Hello, Jean. Hope your wikibreak was great! When you get back, please take a look at the Oct. 11 edit to Hello, Dolly! and see if you think it's ok. Thanks! -- Ssilvers 13:09, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

I think the characters name is " Dolly Gallagher Levi", at least from a few on-line sources I looked at (google books)-I don't know where the "Dorothy" comes from, so I changed it back to Dolly and asked for a reference. JeanColumbia 10:15, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Hairspray

I'm so sorry! I didn't realize that my contributions to Wikipedia were false and at the moment I am undoing me edits. I hope you can forgive me. I am kind of new to this whole thing and I am trying to understand. Thank you for the warning.

Thank You

Thank you very much. I really appreciate this. I think that it is important that Wikipedia is known for being factual and to be better than what other people think about it. Some people think that Wikipedia can not be trusted but I want to try to make Wikipedia trustworthy as best as I can. I have made some mistakes and I apologize for my actions. Thank you so much!

Musical Theatre

Please take a look at the WP:MUSICALS talk page. Would you please contribute your opinion on the question I pose? Best regards, -- Ssilvers 19:05, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

Middle Names

Hello again,

Thank you again for your understanding. I just had a question about the Hairspray middle names. In the movie, Edna calls Tracy, "Tracy Edna Turnblad". Should that be mentioned or not? Likewise how Penny is called Penny Lou Pingleton in the play. I was just curious for your feedback. -- RPlunk2853 23:39, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

The Wedding Singer (musical)

See if you agree with my edits. I don't think we should list temporary cast replacements by non-bluelinked folks. Also, bare mentions of upcoming, unreferenced foreign productions, without any notability info can be deleted, I think. Eventually, if a notable production opens, there will be an article to cite that mentions a notable theatre or notable actors, director, etc. Good job on Irma! -- Ssilvers 22:04, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

OK (Wedding Singer) (although the fact that Benanti was out on medical leave is-or will be-important somewhere, somehow); thanks (Irma).JeanColumbia 07:50, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Cool. BTW, the MOS says to use ndash ( – ) with spaces around it, or mdash (—) without any spaces around it, instead of two hyphens (--). Check out the "Insert" symbols below, where you can pull a dash by clicking on it. Best regards. -- Ssilvers 12:57, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Two musicals

Hello, Jean. I don't know if you have any interest, but Man of La Mancha is entirely unreferenced. Feel like looking into it?

Also, there are separate articles on:

They each have rather different information. Feel like combining them and making one of them into a redirect?

Let me know if you have no time or interest in these, and I'll try to get to it, but I'm buried at work. Best regards, -- Ssilvers 03:51, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the message. Yes, after combining the info in the two articles, just make one of them into a redirect to the other. I can do that for you if you like - just let me know when you are ready. I found a few references for Man of La Mancha. Note that there already are "merge" tags on each H.S. Musical article. Thanks, and best regards, -- Ssilvers 17:58, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Hairspray Names: Von/von Tussle

Hello again,

Thanks for all of your help earlier. I have one question. In Hairspray, there are characters called Amber Von/von Tussle and Velma Von/von Tussle. I was just wondering which spelling was correct. I have the Hairspray (2002 album) and the book lists their names as "Amber Von Tussle" and "Velma Von Tussle". But then it is traditional to spell it "von" and it is a German Preposition Von. So which way should it be spelled? I thought it would be Von Tussle as that is how it is written but some users change it back to von Tussle. Thanks for your time. RPlunk2853

Hello, I'm sorry for bothering you with so many questions. I have one more. In the 1988 movie of Hairspray, they list Prudy Pingleton's name as Prudence Pingleton in the credits. Should that be the name for all of the articles or just the 1988 movie or should it not be in there at all. I think it should be in there as it was listed in the credits of the movie as such but I was just doublechecking. Thanks again, RPlunk2853 (talkcontribs) 20:25, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Hello RP: The movie credits are only a reference for the film article. Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes like this (~ ~ ~ ~), but without any spaces. Also, you don't need to start a new heading for each message. If the messge is about the same topic, use the same heading. Best regards, -- Ssilvers

Stub Sorting

Hi, I've noticed you've created a few stubs recently. It'd be very helpful if you could use specific stub tags, such as {{award-stub}} or {{theatre-stub}} instead of the uncategorised {{stub}}. A complete list can be found here. Thanks, Jeodesic 13:17, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Responded with a thanks (will keep this list handy).JeanColumbia 13:43, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi. FYI, the stub for musicals is {{musical-theat-stub}}. For plays, you can use {{play-stub}} --Ssilvers (talk) 15:40, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Refs

Hey, Jean!
I don't know if you've done it in awhile, but when you have two references for something, don't put the word "and" between, like you did in this diff. (You did it somewhere else, too, but I don't remember where or when....) It just puts the word "and" as plaintext, which could be confusing. Just put the two refs next to one another.
At any rate, keep up the good work! —  MusicMaker5376 16:04, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Just FYI, this editor has never utilized a talk page, see this. I've tried to instruct the editor how to use them, but I don't know if he doesn't understand or doesn't care to use them. I'd suggest going ahead and making the needed changes. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 17:59, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Nope, not for real, as far as I know (and as much as IMDB/google knows). Removed item, prob. should remove it from the other articles, also (there are several more), but not tonight. Thanks... JeanColumbia (talk) 01:37, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. I'm removing it from the three articles linked above. One of the more interesting hoaxes I've seen lately. -- Ssilvers (talk) 03:44, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

TOC left

Hello, Jean. A very happy New Year to you! For what it's worth, I don't see the advantage of embedding the TOC to the left of text, especially where there's a big infobox on the right, as the text in between looks funny. Do you like the way it looks, or is this a new trend in Wikipedia? Best regards, -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:23, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Ha! I was just experimenting, looking for feed-back actually. I am so not a trend-setter, I think I'll go back to the standard TOC format.JeanColumbia (talk) 22:14, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Wicked (musical)

The article is up for FA review, and it is making good progress, I think. If you have any interest, please take a look, as the more good editors there, the better: If this passes, it will be the first true musicals project FA, since the others were all done by editors who really just had and interest in those particular articles. Best regards, -- Ssilvers (talk) 14:39, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Article is looking very informative, certainly beyond anything I could possibly contribute to. And nice images! JeanColumbia (talk) 22:02, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Cool, although I know that your contributions would be very valuable: they always are. I have found working on FA projects to be useful in my other editing, because people really discuss the nitty-gritty issues and are forced to think about issues that might not come up in a Start or even B-class article.
