editIf you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:
- Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
- Provide a new username.
To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.
Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. — rsjaffe 🗣️ 11:36, 1 December 2024 (UTC)

Request reason:I apologize for the misunderstanding and assure you that I intend to contribute in a neutral, encyclopedic manner. As a new editor, I was unaware that my sandbox drafts were publicly visible and thought the sandbox was a private space to experiment with drafts. I now understand that sandbox content must also meet Wikipedia’s standards, and I will ensure that my drafts are revised and appropriate before posting.
Regarding Reflective Imaging Technology, I believe it is a topic of general technical and artistic interest, not specific to any business or product. If unblocked, I will carefully review my drafts to ensure compliance with Wikipedia’s neutrality standards and remove any language that could be interpreted as promotional.
I work in this area of optics and imaging, and I am not compensated for these contributions. My interest is that this technology is documented accurately, using Wikipedia’s objective standards. My sole intent is to share my specialized knowledge about computational reflective imaging technology, a field where I have professional expertise and insights.
Thank you for considering my request.Administrators should consider discussing any unblock with the blocking administrator (see the blocking policy).
If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, please replace this template with the following:
{{unblock-un on hold | 1=blocking administrator | 2=ProposedNewUsername | 3=I understand that my account was blocked because some portion of my sandbox draft text was interpreted as promotional, and because my username did not comply with Wikipedia’s username policy.

Did you intend to propose "ProposedNewUsername" as your new username? As you weren't editing about what I assume is your company(Flective) specifically, you may not be a paid editor, but you absolutely have a conflict of interest. Please review that policy.
Wikipedia is not a place to just tell about something. That's considered promotional here, see WP:YESPROMO. Wikipedia articles summarize what independent reliable sources say about topics that meet our criteria for notability. Wikipedia is not a place to merely share personal knowledge or expertise; see WP:EXPERT. Expertise is useful in finding proper sources to summarize in an article, but an expert cannot merely post their expert knowledge, either without a citation to a published source, or with one(at least directly). From your editing I don't see that you offered a single independent reliable source; this probably contributed to your edits being identified as promotional. Yes, sandboxes are not private, and not immune from community processes(like deletion). If you don't want people to see what you are doing until you're ready, don't post it. What will change about your editing in the future? 331dot (talk) 20:46, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
- Note that User:Flective/Fabrication Methods referred to Flective as a company several times, and contributed to the block decision. — rsjaffe 🗣️ 18:46, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you- I see that now. 331dot (talk) 19:34, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
