Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "FlipTheList", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it might represent your edit-a-thon or a group of organizers. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. Hello FlipTheList, thank you for your interest in improving Wikipedia. However, accounts may not be shared among multiple people and should always be individual accounts for only 1 user. Your contributions are greatly appreciated, but it would be better to choose a username that is clearly individual (a username like Joe#FlipTheList or MarkAtFlipTheList would be appropriate for example, or any other anonymous individual username). Please follow the links in the above message to request a username change, and feel free to ask on my user talkpage or at WP:Teahouse if you have any further questions. By the way, if you haven't read it already, Wikipedia:How to run an edit-a-thon might contain some useful information for this kind of organized improvement drives. Best regards. Thanks for this note - this account was intended as a bit of an administrative/catch-all account for the initiative, especially to help keep track of new pages (on the user page), but I can understand the confusion and now how the implication of sharing is against the username policy. And thanks for providing some good info and options. If I keep using this account to edit I'll take a look at the username change form! FlipTheList (talk) 16:48, 21 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Please make sure to request a name change before you do any further editing, and thanks again for your contributions. GermanJoe (talk) 09:02, 23 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
You can request a name change at Wikipedia:Changing username/Simple. gobonobo + c 17:56, 23 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
@FlipTheList: - please request a name change as discussed. Group accounts are not permitted on Wikipedia, not even for purely administrative purposes. Thank you for your consideration. GermanJoe (talk) 06:11, 30 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Right, will do. This is not in fact a group account but I will submit the request now. Thanks for your patience and the reminder. FlipTheList (talk) 17:47, 30 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Request submitted - thanks again! FlipTheList (talk) 17:54, 30 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
It does not appear to have been enacted for some reason. Please request again or post your preferred username here and I can help rename your account. --TheSandDoctor Talk 00:48, 6 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thanks much for following up. Could we change it to EnvHistScholar?FlipTheList (talk) 15:13, 17 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
My apologies for not seeing this until now (thank you for the post on my talk page). Following your request, I have gone ahead and renamed your account. Your login username will now be EnvHistScholar, effective immediately. Your password is unaffected and the same as before (to clarify: I never knew what it was and don't want to, I am just letting you know that it is unchanged). I sincerely hope that you decide to stick around our little project and am happy to assist however possible; please drop me a line on my talk page if you ever have any questions. I am a big supporter of editathons and happy to assist coordinators of those as necessary/desired. --TheSandDoctor Talk 00:19, 6 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
@TheSandDoctor: That's quite alright, thanks so much for your help with this. I really appreciate it. And thanks for all the support! I'll let you know if I have any questions. EnvHistScholar (talk) 04:06, 6 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
I am glad that I could assist and you are most welcome! Do feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you need any help/have any questions   --TheSandDoctor Talk 06:33, 6 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
