April 2011

Please stop edit warring at Ahava. In particular, you have no consensus to remove the image in question. Four different editors (Noon, myself, Sean.hoyland, and ElComandanteChe) have supported inclusion of the image in the article, while no other editors agree with you. The image shows what the product looks like and illustrates one way that the product is marketed. Use of the image doesn't "promote" the company any more than any image about any product promotes it; see for instance the Chevrolet Corvette article, which includes many product images including several with models in them.

I realize that everything having to do with Israeli-Palestinian relations gets emotional, but your objections basically come down to your WP:IDONTLIKEIT antipathy towards the company. Also realize that all articles related to the Arab–Israeli conflict are on a tighter leash regarding edit warring and that you've already crossed the line. And I thought you might be capable of productive editing. Seems like I misjudged, but I still hope I am proven wrong. Maybe you should try your skills at editing a different subject, possibly one that is less connected to your personal politics. Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. Edit warring at Ahava, an article subject to WP:ARBPIA

If you engage in further inappropriate behavior in this area, you may be placed under sanctions, which can include blocks, a revert limitation, or an article ban. You have broken the WP:1RR restriction at Ahava by reverting twice in one day on August 4. Hi Floccinauci, I'm happy to help. Where it says "Thank you, EdJohnston (talk)" you can click the '(talk)' link in blue and it will take you through to Ed's talk page. When people sign with four tildas ~~~~ this signature format is standard and the (talk) link will always take you to the signers talk page. The first bit - in this case,EdJohnston will link you to the user's profile page. It's worth exploring the time difference things. I'm sure it must have come up before. Hope that helps. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly on this. I have previously replaced this rider after seeking advice from the Wikipedia Live chat help page where I was advised that the inclusion of such a rider is acceptable where no scientific evidence is cited for the claims/beliefs stated in the immediately preceding section. When I first used it I thought it was less aggressive that deleting dubious commercial claims, and that perhaps it is indeed reasonable for the article to have information about the sorts of beliefs and claims around cosmetics. However this approach means it must be made clear that these are nothing but beliefs/claims, not scientifically proven facts. It is of course impossible to cite a source for something that does not exist. Anyway, interested to hear your views. Floccinauci (talk) 10:40, 10 August 2011 (UTC)

You always can cite source for the claim that something does not exist. God nonexistence is the ultimate example. Anything else is not verifiable and does not belong to encyclopedia. Please see the verifiability policy. Yes but the sentence to which you object does not say that the properties claimed do not exist. It merely clarifies that at this stage they are claims or beliefs which do not yet have an empirical basis. This is why I am puzzled as to why people oppose it.
