Thank you for the welcome; I'm getting my feet wet. Cites and footnotes are important and soon enough I will learn how to do that. The edits I made were to passages that themselves were not cited. I did incorrectly mark the edits "minor" when they actually exceed that threshold, and when I figure out how to uncheck the "minor" box I shall do so. Help me!

Please help me with... A user sent a message regarding some edits I made. I'd like to respond and it appears the only way to do that is through his "talk page". Is that correct? It appears the whole world will see what I write, which is OK, but I don't want to clutter up a public space.

You are correct; the best place to put a reply is right underneath the original post so that the thread of conversation can be easily followed. Technically speaking the whole world will see what you write no matter where you put it on Wikipedia, so you might as well make it easy for everyone to read. As a note, you're not cluttering up space; discussions are why talk pages exist. Primefac (talk) 16:25, 11 September 2016 (UTC)

Yes, you are correct. If you would like to talk to another editor, you can do it on a talk page (Like yours, right here). If they've already written something you would like to reply to, add a : to indent the line, write your response, and don't forget to end your message with ~~~~.
