Please review WP:SOCK. KHM03 23:15, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
- I have. Thanks. Freethinker99 23:19, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
- Hello, Freethinker. Just two things. First, you say on this page that you've looked at WP:SOCK. Then you say on the Christianity talk page that you don't know what a meatpuppet is. I suggest you read WP:SOCK again; it's explained there.
- Secondly, for your own sake, I urge you to stop reverting. Even if you're not a sockpuppet for Giovanni, you are not entitled, as a meatpuppet, to show up and start reverting to his POV. Read WP:3RR also. And please be aware that the enormous tolerance we showed for Giovanni before he was blocked is wearing out. You're on very very shaky ground. I'm sure, if you are a different person, you don't want to start your career on Wikipedia with a block. AnnH (talk) 01:23, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, I re-read it and see that section, which is still a little unclear in my mind. It seems to talk about voting and arbitration disputes, not about editing an article that I'm intersted in. Also, it says, "Do not call these users "meatpuppets"; be civil." I guess your not supposed to call me a meatpuppet? Freethinker99 01:29, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
My suggestion would be to make some edits - on the Jesus and Christianity articles or elsewhere (heck, on any subject) - which are not controversial, non-confrontational. It's true, you're starting your Wiki career in a bad spot because of your association with a controversial user. That's really unfortunate, and probably unfair. So, if you're serious about Wikipedia, make some good, quality contributions other than just reverting articles where Gio was active. Str1977 and Musical Linguist are good editors; work with them (and the rest of us). I wouldn't just revert without gaining a consensus first...that way leads to trouble. I hope things work out...KHM03 01:51, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advise. But, I did not just rv to Gio's version, I made my own changes based on feedback by Str1977, and accepted your changes. I agree its not fair that I'm met with such hostility over a small mistake. We all learn by mistakes. And, I have been working with everyone, here, but I'm just running into a brick wall, it seems. I'll take a look at some other articles that interest me. Thanks, again. Freethinker99 02:01, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- P.S. I know Gio for a long time and he is a a very smart, educated, and kind person; Belinda Gong is a different person-- his wife. I know they also can make lot of valuable contributions to this encylopedia, and it seems to me that a lot of the hostility against him is overblown and stems from ideologial differences.
