License tagging for Image:Killthemoonlightdvd.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Killthemoonlightdvd.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Notability of LAMPS (band)

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on LAMPS (band), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because LAMPS (band) seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting LAMPS (band), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. I've restored it, good luck. -- John Reaves 17:00, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

The article LAMPS (band) has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki 14:07, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry, and I can't speak for other editors, but I still don't see an assertion of notability in this article. All it says is "this is a band with one release on In The Red Records. All that the In The Red Records article says is "this is a label that has garage punk bands on it." You need some independent verification that the band is notable -- see Wikipedia:Verifiability as well as WP:BAND. NawlinWiki 17:19, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
