Sakis Rouvas

edit

The Sakis Rouvas discography is on his discography page, so it should not be on his page too. Grk1011/Stephen (talk) 03:41, 25 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm afraid the filmography page you made might end up being put up for deletion. It really offers nothing new. All that info is already in his bio on the main page. Just giving you a heads up. Greekboy (talk) 05:49, 27 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Its "Alter Ego" not "ALTER EGO" the font they choose for the cover does not mean it should be all caps when written. Grk1011/Stephen (talk) 17:02, 27 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
If you actually go on the ALTER EGO Village Roadshow official site, every time it say ALTER EGO it is spellt in CAPS. Also, in all magazines and press releases for the film in newspapers and TV ads, the font would always be ALTER EGO. For instance: May 10, 2007 is the official release date of ALTER EGO. Look up the site and then talk. villageroadshow.gr/alterego

Well, your link didnt work, but I guarantee that its all in caps because that is how it looks on the cover. Its not like if it was written in comic sans we would have to write it that way as well. The only time it could ever be all caps is if it stood for something like initials BBC, etc. Grk1011/Stephen (talk) 14:06, 28 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

First of all, don't go off accusing me of "Vandalism" on a template. All I did was un-link the red linked articles, and take out categories according to guidelines. For example, a soundtrack section should only include albums FULLY by the singer. Not a contribution. Video albums are supposed to be grouped together, and not separated by type (such as live, compilation, and singles. they have to be together) EP's are supposed to be with singles. So please do not go off accusing with out backing up things first. I have been editing long enough to know. Greekboy (talk) 01:06, 29 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

One more note. Do you have a published source to back up the sales numbers on the Rouvas discography? We usually do not add them, unless a source species the exact number of sales. This is due to the reason that IFPI changes it's sales numbers each year. So unless they are properly sourced, they will be taken out. Also, can you please stop adding "Multi-Platinum" after a number? The correct grammatical way is just platinum when it follows a number and an x. (Example 2x platinum) I am giving you advise, not to be mean, but to help you. Greekboy (talk) 01:49, 29 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
The sales have been verified by the reference I have put from the career biography with the four different subheadings. The book came with an album released by Rouvas and stated the sales and certifications of all of his releases until 2001. The rest are from the main article and its sources from MAD TV. By the way, sir, 2x platinum may be the grammatically correct way to state it in the Greek language but if you know about the music industry, then you would know that the correct way to state the sales is multi-platinum as is marketed by both RIAA and IFPI in the larger English-speaking European countries. As Greece is under IFPI, the correct way to write the certifications in English is Multi-platinum, so that stays put. Afterall, it is on the English page, and as a reference, look at the English-language discographies of American and British artist, (although spoken 2 times platinum, they are all written as 2x multi-platinum. Sorry, but thanks for your understanding!.

User:GRstar2008 (Alexandra (talk) 02:07, 29 October 2008 (UTC)) 10:07 October 28, 2008 (UTC).Reply

Could you scan a page or something from that book, to show the sales since there is no record online? Just an example one. Also if it goes up to 2001, where are you getting the sales for after 2001? I understand you can add up sales (like 2x platinum represent xxxxx) but like I said before, they need to be sourced as exact numbers since IFPI changes the numbers every year. Second, you are wrong on the "Multi-platinum". It is only written as multi-platinum when there is no number in front of it. I have looked at other recording artists (Britney Spears, Beyonce, Chris Brown, Maroon 5, Coldplay, U2, Amy Whinehouse, Lily Allen, ect) and they all list it as "XX Platinum" following a number. Again, I do not mean to get into a fight with you, just trying to make wikipedia a better place, while keeping it up to standards following the rules. Hi

edit

I've noticed that you are an active editor on Greek discographies!!

Question: For rouvas' videography, there is no video for "the light" (2001)??? I made most of the Ola Kala page and there is no indication that there's one when I did some searching, nor have I ever heard of it. I was gonna delete it but just want to make sure... Images

edit

Hey. Please note, that the only time you can use copyrighted images (i.e. images you did not take), is when they illustrate a very important event (once in a lifetime) that no other free image can display, and significantly increase the readers' understanding of the article, as well as do more than just illustrate the event. (See Wikipedia:NFC for more information). Album covers can only be used for album articles only. In some cases album covers can be used in the main bio to illustrate the event at that time, but only if a page for the album does not already exist. Since pages for 21os Akatallilos and S'eho Erotefthi already exist, they will most likely have to be taken out of the article, while the images of Sakis at Eurovision 2004 and Eurovision 2006 will most likley also be put up for deletion, as they are listed as copyrighted images, and fall under the category that i wrote above. They are dumb rules, I know, but you will get to know wikipedia good pretty soon. :) I made mistakes when I first started editing too. :) If you have any questions about anything (editing, images, ect.), you can leave me a comment either hear, or on my page. Isis Gee

edit

Hello, can you please help resolve isis gee. I and some other users believe we should not quote or use as a single source the PR page is Isis Gee. Rather use the more encyclopedic previous version.

Only a non biased person should decided:

1. Is quoting carte balk from her PR site word for word an acceptable source or is the previous version better as it is written in a more encyclopedic manner.

2. Should we add material from magazines and PR sites at all?

3. Has there been a strong bias toward positive spin and constant reversions of anyone who disagred?

Ipofero

edit

For your information, I have the tv-rip from Omorfos Kosmos, and it is also available online. It lists nothing about sales in the video. They also played the same video at her certification party, and at all other promotional events she went to. If you want, I can send you a link to it. And also please remember that hidden messages are not a place to state opinions or talk about things. That is what talk pages are for. It would help if you replied to people on your talk page once in a while. Also remember that anything and everything you add to wikipedia, must be sourced by reliable sources. One more thing, please remember when creating article or adding information, to stay neutral, and not state opinions. I am telling you this last bit to help you out. These are the rules of wikipedia, and if you follow them, it makes it easier for you and everyone else. Greekboy (talk) 00:19, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Greekboy, I mentioned that both shows featured her discography in celebration of her 10 years with Phoebus. Omorfos Kosmos did not mention the sales, but Proinos Kafes did a ten minute segment on her discography in the past ten years, clearly stating:
  • Deka Endoles = P
  • Spania = P
  • Profities = P
  • Ipofero = 5P & most successful single of all time (NOT 6P though!)
  • Gia (album) = 4P (NOT 5P as had been previously recorded here)
  • Gia = G
  • Come Along Now = G
  • Kalanda = 2P
  • LIVE = P
  • Ande Gia = 2P

&Stin Avli=2P

The segment featured her videos and performances and was reported by Elena Polykarpou right before the release of 10 Hronia Mazi, so don't blow a fuse. I'm sure you haven't seen every Greek program that ever ran. Just so you know I mentioned both programs to you, not just one! (Alexandra (talk) 00:28, 31 October 2008 (UTC))Reply

Hey, I moved your response to your page. When responding, it is best to respond on the page the question was first asked to keep conversations together. :) Anyway, I have the video from Proinos Kafes (the one on December 11, 2007). It says nothing about certifications or sales. I can give you the link to that video too if you want. Greekboy (talk) 01:00, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hey give me the link, b/c there is a huge possibility that you might have the wrong one. The one I watched specifically targeted her sales. Show me and we'll compare. (Alexandra (talk) 01:04, 31 October 2008 (UTC))
This is the one. I went ontop her fan club and found it. This is the only interview she did with Proinos Kafes back then. But I will send it to you if you want. Do you have an email or aim or msn? They are rapidshare links, so I can't send them via wikipedia. :) Also I see you took inspiration from my user page. Can I suggest you change the colors around a bit not to look the same. I can change them to whichever colors you want, if you don't know how to. :) I mention the user page, becuase when User:Grk1011 was new, he also copied mine. lmao. Also remember to respond on your page. I have your page on my watchlist, so I can see if you respond. Greekboy (talk) 01:06, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Greekboy, this is getting difficult. I'm telling you it wasn't the interview that she did. She did an interview on Mega, the video I'm talking to you about is not an interview with her. She wasn't there on Proinos Kafes. It's just a video report by Elena Polykarpou released in December: I believe the title of the segment was "Despina - Fivos: Mia "Hrysi" Synergasia."

Sorry about the userpage, I wasn't sure how to format it and I noticed Grk1011's is the same layout. I didn't know you started it. Well, it looks nice, you must have a lot of time on your hands (lol). By the way, I don't know how to change the colors on my page. Some nice red, pink and blue would be nice. Thanks, I appreciate it! (Alexandra (talk) 01:30, 31 October 2008 (UTC))Reply

Thats OK about the user page. :p I'll try to get your colors changed later tonight. I know the exact video you are talking about. Despina Vandi's people uploaded it for her online sites last year. It is available on youtube, here is the link [1]. It lists no certifications in it. They used the same video at her certification party. The video in question has no commentary, and was made by Vandi's people for promotion. If you heard commentary, it was the TV station that put the commentary in. Regardless, they are wrong since Vandi's and Phoebus', as well as her official fan club, lists it as 6x plat. And it would be easier to talk on MSN or AIM. :) Greekboy (talk) 01:36, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I provided the link above. But here it is again [2] or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yv3EX5NMRQ8 Also remember to reply on this page, your page, to keep the conversation together. Greekboy (talk) 01:53, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hey Greekboy, I watched your link. I'm sorry to say, that's the one I thought you were talking about, and it's not the right one. That's the one tributed to her during her interview on Mega at Christmas time. The one I'm referring to is from Proinos Kafes on Antenna Channel. I have seen both of them. By the way, Heaven is owned by Antenna, so if any sales reports are accurate, I'm sure the one by Polykarpou is correct since the label and network share such a close collaboration.

Also, u say it says 6P on her official site, Phoebus' and her fansite, but the thing with personal sites can be that they can be biased or have inaccurate information as they are usually not written by the artists themselves. Then information gets streamed to other sites, ie Despina is linked to Phoebus, and of course the primary source of her fanclub would be her site! Just because it has appeared on these three places does not mean it is accurate. I have heard many reports over the years saying it was 5P. It also stated that in 2007, she sold her 1 millionth record in Greece (albums, DVDs and singles)

Artist sites can be such a bad resource of information; the only true sources are IFPI, RIAA, MAD (if updated to most recent certification date) etc. (Alexandra (talk) 02:01, 31 October 2008 (UTC))Reply

This is the only tribute video there is according to her fan club. They also played this at her certification party, and other promo events. (minus the Mega logo at the top) And I understand Ant1 owns Heaven, but you also have to remember that Ipofero was released by Minos EMI, and not Heaven. Hence why there was no fan-fair when it went to 6 (since she moved from MINOS). Regarding Proinos Kafes being right, I have seen enough mistakes by them about discographies, so for that I disagree. Especially with Kalomoira, who was at Heaven for all her life. lol. And regarding official sites, they are considered reliable sources by wikipedia, and not really considered "personal sites". Regardless, to add the info you say you saw in the video, you need to back it up with exact information in a reference with exact Date, Channel, Show. Anyway, yet another confirmation, this site was created by Heaven Music [3] or http://www.despina-phoebus.gr/history.html to promote 10 years of Despina-Phoebus and 10 Hronia Mazi CD. It also lists 6x plat. In the mean time, I will try to look for more sourcing. Also RESPOND ON THIS PAGE. :)Greekboy (talk) 02:21, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

By the way, I fixed your user page colors. Are they good, or do you want something changed? Greekboy (talk) 02:59, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for Image:Lenny I Belong UK.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading Image:Lenny I Belong UK.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 15:50, 23 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of File:Again UK.jpg

edit

The file File:Again UK.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NFCC#4 (previously published), WP:NFCC#3a (minimal number of items) and WP:NFCC#8 (contextual significance); US promo single, actually

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

Also:

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 24 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
