Welcome GTindy, and GT article discussion
editWelcome, from your username I assume you are an independent practitioner of the Graston Technique. The main article Graston Technique is very skimpy, so I am glad you have taken an interest in it. There are some points of Wikipedia style to tell you about, which you might not know. As a friendly, helpful Wikipedia Admin (Grand Poobah of Greatness, bow down before me ye faceless masses), I have explained some of these points in the Discussion page for the GT article: Talk:Graston_Technique. Note that you can reply here under this post by indenting with a colon : and automatically sign your post with four tildes ~ in a row. Thanks for helping improve Wikipedia. - Caltrop: I am not sure if you have followed the recent comments on the Talk:Graston_Technique page. It is my hope that a more neutral / informative link can be added to Graston Technique. I agree it needs more content and something that explains the technique and what it entails, aside from what is there now (essentially just patent numbers, which are not of interest to the general reader and are expiring soon anyway). As you'll see on the GT Discussion page, I have submitted several suggestions, which were summarily discounted by the other admin. I am hopeful that if you perceive just one of those links to be worthy and informative (vs. promotional), perhaps you would be willing to add it in. I think the news story is very informative, as it shows GT in use. Then again, the case reports provide another opinion and evidence supporting the technique, which might create a more neutral impression (vs. what I currently feel is a negative impression) of the technique. Let me know what you think. I am trying to avoid adding any more to the article myself. Thank you.GTindy (talk) 16:27, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for writing. This could be a good article with a little work. I have not looked at the GT page lately, but will carefully view it with your comments open before me. Remember, on WP, an admin is simply a trusted user with extra settings to help us improve articles. Without me actually checking the GT page to see what is going on, let me recommend that you glance at Getting Started on WP. Then you might want to fix typos (but do not "fix" British spelling) on random articles. After you tinker with this a few times, you will be a bone-fide WP Editor. Woo hoo! Meanwhile I will add the GT article to my to-do list :-) Welcome aboard, there is so much opportunity to learn and expand your own knowledge here. Be honest, friendly, open, follow what rules you can find, and you'll still be misunderstood and criticized -- the price of admission. Be bold, be bold, and everywhere you go, be bold (but don't be too bold)! as the poet might have said. Caltrop (talk) 13:28, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
