'bout your name

Just wondering.. is it supposed to be Galatz?--Bolter21 (talk to me) 20:41, 7 January 2016 (UTC)

@Bolter21: nope, my family is originally from Galați which the name comes from. - GalatzTalk 16:07, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
It's funny since you seem to be intrerested in Israeli related articles.. Oh well.--Bolter21 (talk to me) 18:17, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
@Bolter21: I definitely am, but just a coincidence. - GalatzTalk 18:23, 8 January 2016 (UTC)

Revert at Partner Communications Company

Your revert at Partner Communications Company [1] was absurd. This leak was reported in a RS and not OR. Thanks. Shuki (talk) 19:36, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

@Shuki: Its wikipedia policy, read Speculation and rumor, even from reliable sources, are not appropriate encyclopedic content and everything else at WP:RUMOR - GalatzTalk 19:40, 15 February 2016 (UTC)
Perhaps a poor choice of words by me, but certainly you read the source I included that did not mention speculation or rumour but brand change as a matter of fact. Shuki (talk) 19:45, 15 February 2016 (UTC)
@Shuki: Yes but its still a rumor until the company announces it, no matter how certain it is. If you google Samsung Galaxy S7 you will see a million articles on it, including images, but its not announced, so there is no page. You can google the Motorola is changing its named from Motorola to Moto by Lenovo. Its written in very reliable sources, but its not announced, so its not on wikipedia. - GalatzTalk 19:49, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

Please do not add a link to Golan Telecom page again. See Also area is not meant to be a place for links to commercial competitors. There is already a link to List of mobile network operators of Israel, there is no need to link to each of them separately. Thanks. - Hod206Talk 10:27, 9 March 2016 (UTC)

@Hod206: Actually thats perfect example of what it is used for. - GalatzTalk 11:55, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
@Galatz: Please show me some examples of other articles where the See Also has links to competitors right next to a "list of all..." link. Thanks! - Hod206Talk 12:06, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
@Hod206: Cellcom (Israel), Pelephone, Hot Mobile all do, so thats a pretty good list to show you its standard practice. If you want international chain, take a look at McDonald's, you don't get much bigger than they are, and they link to burger king.
Also why is you excuse now changing? First your issue was that its illogical. Then to put a competitor there is against common sense. Then you didn't like that the other competitors weren't there. Now you don't think it should be there because of "list of all" is there. Make up your mind with your issues. - GalatzTalk 14:37, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
@Galatz: It's all the same "excuse". "illogical" and "against common sense" are pretty the same. It is illogical because there is a link to "list of all" and that's enough. Also, if you add one you might as well add them all, or it becomes biased - also common sense. - Hod206Talk 15:12, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
@Hod206: Per WP:SEEALSO if its linked in the article it doesnt go in the see also section. The ones that are linked in the article are not in there. Common sense states you read the rules before deciding you know better. - GalatzTalk 17:57, 9 March 2016 (UTC)

Re: Manning retirement

Here is reference, it is Not a crystal ball. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000641561/article/broncos-quarterback-peyton-manning-to-retire

@Spparky: You need to read your own source. Its pretty clear Manning will announce his retirement on Monday at 1 p.m Since it is not Monday at 1pm yet, he has not retired - GalatzTalk 03:01, 7 March 2016 (UTC)
OK here is another one - the Broncos website shows him retiring. He is not on there roster list, and therefore is not active. http://www.denverbroncos.com/?icampaign=nflcom-header-clublogos-DEN
@Spparky: Them not listing him on the roster anymore and him officially retiring are two very different things. Most expert would tell you last week if he was to play next year it wouldn't be with Denver. I just checked Peyton's WP page too and they agree with me. They are also reverting any mention of him being retired. They also are keeping him as active until the press conference tomorrow. - GalatzTalk 03:21, 7 March 2016 (UTC)

Anthony Cumia

Hi, Galatz. That's good that he confirmed it. Since that seems to be subscription only and since you seem to have listened to it, could you add the "time=" field to the cite template, so that there's a timestamp for where he says this? For WP:BLP reasons that would be a big help. Thanks!--Tenebrae (talk) 18:37, 31 March 2016 (UTC)

Wait, what?

Your argument that the statement regarding the end of the CSI franchise seems absolutely baffling to me. I honestly cannot comprehend how you find this statement to be an extrapolation or speculation - to me, this statement is simply nothing more than a statement of the fact that franchise has ended. This is also not "future history" because the statement only addresses the current status of the CSI franchise. Further, in this edit summary you argued that "nothing is stopping them from making a 5th show" - that's a supposition. Unless you have evidence that of a possible fifth series, I am planning on reverting your edit once again. Davejohnsan (talk) 05:01, 13 May 2016 (UTC)

I would also like to point that based on your logic, we may as well not write that CSI: Cyber has ended since nothing is stopping CBS from reviving it for a third season. Davejohnsan (talk) 05:04, 13 May 2016 (UTC)
@Davejohnsan: WP should report what the RS says. If the source says its cancelled then yes it should say that. Unless you have a source that says CBS announced it the end of the franchise, it should not say it. You can say that there are currently no shows airing in the franchise. You cannot draw your own conclusions. - GalatzTalk 12:21, 13 May 2016 (UTC)
There are several sources which specifically mention the demise of the entire franchise, but you want this statement removed based on the possibility that another series may be created. I think you can cross that bridge once and if we get there, but in the meantime, as I've said before, the franchise is over. If you have any evidence even hinting at the possibility of a revival to the franchise, I would love to see it. Davejohnsan (talk) 21:22, 13 May 2016 (UTC)
The sources dont say that CBS announced that it is ending the franchise, if its not officially stated then you are drawing your own conclusion. There are not a ton of other franchises to compare this to, however Beverly Hills, 90210 (franchise) doesn't say it ended the franchise. I don't get what your basis is for it needing to be there except you want to, what supports you in that it is not WP:OR? Additionally per WP:V you cannot prove it is verifiable. - GalatzTalk 21:31, 13 May 2016 (UTC)
"There are not a ton of other franchises to compare this to" - That, I suspect, is part of the problem. I'm going to let this marinate for a little bit and I'll get back to you within the next day. Davejohnsan (talk) 21:41, 13 May 2016 (UTC)

Angry Birds Seasons app icon (by Rowdypup

Do you know why the Angry Birds Seasons app icon image is always being reverted back to "Fairy Hogmother"? I've been playing the game since it was released, and that icon was for February- 5 months from now! Why isn't the app icon current (Summer Camp) like it's supposed to? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rowdypup (talkcontribs) 15:37, 8 July 2016 (UTC)

@Rowdypup: You arent changing the icon, all your edits are doing is making no image show up. Either update the icon properly, or it will keep being reverted. - GalatzTalk 15:47, 8 July 2016 (UTC)
@Rowdypup: Make sure you read WP:UPIMAGE rather than still trying to change it - GalatzTalk 22:32, 22 July 2016 (UTC)

If I can't do it (because the Upload Images feature is busted), the why isn't anybody else doing it? Does somebody just really like "Fairy Hogmother" for some reason? It's a good world, but we have to keep the app picture current. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rowdypup (talkcontribs) 00:07, 24 July 2016 (UTC)

Sources for the Tel Aviv attack

Please only use: haaretz and ynet because foreign reports on attacks in Israel are terrible. I don't think you"ll recieve less information from these two alone.--Bolter21 (talk to me) 20:41, 8 June 2016 (UTC)

@Bolter21:The sources I have been using, I have been attempting to verify matches information from Israeli sources, however I want to avoid only using Israeli sources. In previous incidents I have seen people complain about the weight of too many sources coming from Israel. - GalatzTalk 20:46, 8 June 2016 (UTC)
And I complain on how terrible foreign sources are, without any connection to politics or ideologies, they are just bad, especially RT...--Bolter21 (talk to me) 20:51, 8 June 2016 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:Clara Seger.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Clara Seger.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 02:56, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

@Whpq: I added a more specific summary modeled after similar images for other criminal minds characters. - GalatzTalk 03:01, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
Okay. I know a lot of editors leave out parts of the rationale, but non-free content criteria must be all satisfied so you cannot have "n.a." as the explanation for any of the criteria as you have for #1 and #2 criteria. -- Whpq (talk) 03:13, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

Help?

An IP [2] keeps on deleting RS supported material at the Or Sasson page. Since you are an established third party who has recently edited that page, can you take a look? He just deletes material that has footnotes in th article. Calls it vandalism in his edit summary. And adds made-up material not in the refs (what the brother did, nickname, etc). And edit wars. I tried speaking to him on his page. I need a third party to take a look. Thanks. 2604:2000:E016:A700:B918:5FF4:EA14:296 (talk) 04:25, 13 August 2016 (UTC)

Israel at 2012 European Lacrosse Championship

Hi, if you want to complete the Israeli participations at the European championships, you've got all the information, roster and results of the 2012 edition at this website: [3] and at the Slovakian wiki: here. Greetings. Asturkian (talk) 13:55, 15 August 2016 (UTC)

@Asturkian: Thanks! - GalatzTalk 14:45, 15 August 2016 (UTC)
@Asturkian: I think I have added everything I could find from the Men's and Women's tournaments, in addition to adding as much verbiage as I could find. If you can find anything else please add it or let me know what you think might be worthwhile and I can add it in. - GalatzTalk 18:59, 15 August 2016 (UTC)
As far as I know, these three are the only participations of Israel at the moment. You've got the women's roster here, and the men's one here. Greetings from a former completely-amateur lacrosse player. Asturkian (talk) 20:12, 15 August 2016 (UTC)

Stop adding unsourced content to BLPs

None of what I removed is sourced. Enigmamsg 13:10, 19 August 2016 (UTC)

@Enigmaman: First of all yes it was. Second of all the WP:BLP rule is "any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be explicitly attributed to a reliable, published source" which of these items are you saying would likely be challenged? - GalatzTalk 14:15, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
I have always taken the view that if an editor removed material, then the material has been challenged. I am not sure if this view is implied by the policy or not. MPS1992 (talk) 16:52, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
@MPS1992: but he isn't challenging the information, hes just saying its outdated or unsourced - GalatzTalk 18:57, 21 August 2016 (UTC)
That's one way of looking at it. Another is that by removing it, he has challenged it; that it is "contentious" simply because this disagreement is happening. Such a wide variety of apparently innocent or uncontroversial facts in biographies of living people end up being contentious -- an interpretation that policy supports without hesitation -- that surely it's easier just not to add things that are unsourced? MPS1992 (talk) 20:45, 21 August 2016 (UTC)

israeli ice hockey

very puzzled why all this content is simply being duplicated onto individual pages, almost none of it is notable on its own. Are you planning to add sourced content that would give these articles some kind of notability? Also, maybe slow down and check details, for instance: how many games did they play in 1994?18abruce (talk) 15:28, 25 August 2016 (UTC)

@18abruce:Its not duplicated, I have added additional information already that appears no one where else on WP. Not exactly sure what you are referring to. Some information is duplicated some isn't. There is going to be cross over, but its far from just a duplicate. Also I dont understand what your issue is with 1994, want to be more specific? - GalatzTalk 16:40, 25 August 2016 (UTC)
1994 has 6 games played when each team played 5 games, I assume the same issue will occur year after year when the same format is used. But I have to thank you, I believe that the detailed list at nationalteams of ice hockey is missing some other games as well that I would not have noticed if I didn't look closer.18abruce (talk) 18:38, 25 August 2016 (UTC)
Perhaps I am not as familiar with the old format rules, but they clearly show in both brackets as 3 games, which would equal a total of 6. If there is something I am missing I am happy to work through the changes. Additionally I think the issue is that the national team page has historically only focused on the one tournament, no mention of the past two Olympic qualifiers. I think with some expansion, which I am happy to do, it will make more sense having it like this. Also, granted there will be duplication, but the same argument can be made for each country have an olympic page per year, and sport per year. Its just the nature of it having duplication. - GalatzTalk 18:42, 25 August 2016 (UTC)
Sorry if I have been understood, I think adding more content to international ice hockey is fantastic. I don't think there is any value to individual year pages for lower tier countries, I don't believe it to be notable in any way, but who cares. In older tournaments it frequently happens that results are carried forward to the next round. So if you look at 1994 all individual game scores are listed, and if you look at the second round you will see that Israel played two games but are listed as playing three because the result of their game against Australia carried forward. Israel also tried to qualify for the 1998 winter olympics in hockey, two single game eliminations (Greece and Yugoslavia).18abruce (talk) 18:50, 25 August 2016 (UTC)
I eliminated all duplicate games from the pages you created, but I will leave it to you to fix the totals because there are other transposition mistakes and I don't have the time to check it all line by line.18abruce (talk) 14:01, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
Thanks, I will take a look - GalatzTalk 14:44, 26 August 2016 (UTC)

Great job at writing Israel at the European Championship of American football with plenty of references! Opie Radio

My sincerest apologizes for my diatribe on the Opie Radio article, I should have known better than to let my personal opinions and POV get the better of me and the fact that I didn't add any references to back up what I was writing wants to make me kick myself because I'm always going around Wikipedia fixing edits and telling other editors not to put stuff in the article unless that have solid references to back up what they are writing and yet here we are I didn't even listen myself to what I preach. I do think though there should be some mention of the whole Opie leaving and then coming back and Jim Norton and Sam Roberts taking over the morning slot with proper references of course. YborCityJohn (talk) 05:30, 9 October 2016 (UTC)

@YborCityJohn: Agreed, and there are plenty of samples refs on other articles if you need them - GalatzTalk 01:41, 10 October 2016 (UTC)

Edit warring

Note: Rockypedia moved this discussion here with this edit [4] because he doesn't like it on his talk page.

You need to understand the difference between WP:CYCLE and edit warring. By simply reverting my changes you automatically were edit warring. You site WP:CYCLE as your reason for a pure revert, but if you read the in a nutshell summary it says Making bold edits is encouraged, as it will result in either improving an article, or stimulating discussion. If your edit gets reverted, do not revert again. Instead, begin a discussion with the person who reverted your change to establish consensus. Yet when your edits got reverted all you did was revert it, thats called edit warring, not being productive. Additionally 5 people have chimed in on the discussion and so far you are the only one who doesn't think its a WP:BLP violation. I highly suggest you revert your revert before we need to get an admin involved. - GalatzTalk 18:41, 2 November 2016 (UTC)

You are misrepresenting what occurred. You made the bold edit, by changing the line that said "racist Twitter rant." I reverted that edit and said "let's discuss on talk page". You then reverted again. So in fact, you are guilty of exactly what you are accusing me of doing. Rockypedia (talk) 19:03, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
@Rockypedia: That is completely incorrect. Someone else made the initial change, not me. So your entire argument is flawed. - GalatzTalk 20:22, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
It's irrelevant whether the change was made by you or someone else: in WP:CYCLE, the change was made (ie the BOLD), and it was reverted (REVERT), and now is under discussion. If you ignore the initial change and revert, and treat your change as an independent event, you're still the BOLD change, and I'm still reverting it, and now it's being discussed. Rockypedia (talk) 20:30, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
And I feel its all irrelevant because its a WP:BLP violation. Your point? - GalatzTalk 20:57, 2 November 2016 (UTC)

Angry birds

Why is this a big issue all of a sudden for you and The1337Gamer? The tables of the Angry Birds pages have coexisted fine ever since their respective articles were created, until now where you call them "gameguides". I'm going to stand my ground and keep reposting the tables, for the good of the public who has a right to view them 2602:306:CCA8:1A99:2C6D:56A3:9AE8:252 (talk)

I thought it should stay, but there was a consensus it shouldn't, which means it gets removed, very simple - GalatzTalk 14:23, 16 November 2016 (UTC)

Sorry about messing up when I tried to repair this. I got confused by the IP's refactoring and using a signature to ping. -- ferret (talk) 19:05, 17 November 2016 (UTC)

Galatz why don't you take a hint and learn to read one's oppositions? You would do so much more on WP if you moved your soggy little eyes over what someone else thinks on the computer screen :P @JusttakeChances - 2602:306:cca8:c8c9:c549:40bd:3db6:8b31 (talk)

You don't even seem to understand that I was arguing on the same side of the argument as you. But you are too stubborn and ridiculous to even realize this. If you did you would realize your argument is so completely off base because I read the oppositions and went with the consensus, something you refuse to do. - GalatzTalk 21:48, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

Do you want to start fresh and restart the article? We can reach a consensus and contribute what we both feel is ideal- what do you say? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:CCA8:C8C9:C549:40BD:3DB6:8B31 (talk) 23:50, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

Edit warring at Project Fi

Your latest edit at Project Fi puts you at the edge of violating WP:3RR. I've inserted material you removed in a previous edit, added further explanation to address your concerns and added appropriate sources. If you have a real issue here, the best way to address it is at the the talk page of the article, not via edit warring. Alansohn (talk) 19:53, 22 November 2016 (UTC)

November 2016

Hello, I'm Toddst1. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Project Fi ‎ without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Toddst1 (talk) 20:03, 22 November 2016 (UTC) @Toodst1: I am not really sure why "A few people violating terms of their purchase is not something that belongs on an encyclopedia" is not adequate enough of an explanation for you, but how much more could you expect me to say? People violate terms or their contracts all the time, you expect all of that to appear on WP? - GalatzTalk 20:06, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
